With the 4th round pick (#105 overall) in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Chiefs selected wide receiver Will Franklin from Missouri.
As a senior, Franklin (6-1, 214) was named All-Big 12 Conference honorable mention. He started all 14 games at “X” receiver, coming up with a career-high 49 receptions for 709 yards and four touchdowns.
In 48 games at Missouri, Franklin started 36 contests. He ranks fourth in school history with 143 catches for 2,125 yards (14.9 avg) and 13 touchdowns.

If you know the Mizzou offense then you know they didn’t use Franklin as much as they could have. Comparatively with our last fourth round selection of Samie Parker Franklin is almost as fast but 40 pounds heavier and taller. Second best time at the combine and excellent hands he should be next to Bowe on Day 1.

Being a local boy he will get a good crowd response but lets hope he proves he is worth a pick and can actually play.

Kick returner is probably his biggest value if jeff webb doesn’t work out also in the slot got to get o-line help yes but can’t be mad at the picks so far.

Chiefs picked up B.J. Sams for Kick Return.

Franklin will not be a kick returner, no chance. B.J. may not even end up returning kicks, but this we have at least 2 or 3 experienced kick returners. So when one goes down we don’t have to rely on a 31 year old to do the job. Robinson could be the man or Sams, but I hope Franklin is just the No. 2 receiver possibly alternating with Darling.

erick…these picks mean nothing with out an o line. they will not beable to do anthing with out an o line to block for larry and to protect brodie so they can make plays. everyone knows that its all starts on both lines!

without the two OL picked starting and contributing, this draft was a waste. but i really think that Albert (6′6/ 310lbs) and Richardson (6′7/ 320lbs) can get the job done. it might take a year or two but these are both solid picks.
Most Questionable Pick of the Day: Jamaal Charles out of Texas. Should have definately taken another lineman

I guess they didn’t think that Cousins from UTEP wasn’t worth a 3rd round choice, or McGlynn from Pitt, Murphy from Utah State, or Collins from the KANSAS JAYHAWKS were worth a 4th round pick. Apparently the breadline has better Offensive Linemen available than the guys they passed up, because that’s where they’re going to have to get people to protect Larry Johnson and Brodie Croyle! Please have someone wake Carl up and let him know the fan base does actually care about his team and the direction he’s taking it in.

charles was not a bad pick kc ioooooo whatever your name is he is opposite of lj.. and has the ability to break it off everytime. the worst pick was…. well.. nothing. it was solid… although i would have taken collins in the 4th.. he will be solid even though i hate kansas and they are truely terrible… but charles will be the number 3 running back.. cause well smith is good but this kid has skill….

I was also shocked we did not pick up more linemen but we have picked up at least three in free agency. Our biggest problem last year was the fact we had old veterans. We bring in younger more able and still everyone gets mad. We can’t go out and get every top rated free agent lineman. This team is young and its line should be young too. No one knows that these guys can’t play. All we know is Welborn and Wiegman were getting old and not fitting our scheme. The scheme I speak of is not givning up league most 55 sacks. I would prefer to see Albert play right guard I guess everyone thinks we should have the most talented at LT. Adrian Jones will probably play right guard and richardson RT. The only guy thats stays from last year is the best Waters. I would not be surprised if we got one more linemen in free agency though but don’t expect more than one.
