Goldzone44, I could not agree with you more. I felt your pain at the Colts game and it sickens me that they went on to The Super Bowl against the sorry-ass Bears and won. That literally could have been us…I KNEW that Herm would put in Huard at halftime due to Trent’s performance, blame it on the concussion and move on…but he didn’t. Not at the beginning of third quarter nor at the beginning of fourth quarter. It was painful to watch Trent be so off…painful. I feel ya buddy. I can only compare it to the disastrous AFC Championship game against Denver when we got robbed. Pain, pain, pain. With that being said…I understand why Herm didn’t put Huard in, it’s already been said. I really think if that wouldn’t have been his first season as our head coach, he would’ve been bolder with his decisions, and you’re absolutely right, that’s what a head coach HAS GOT to do. I had to forgive him and move on. I can’t hate him b/c our boys need to respect him and I am with them and their best interests. We can get back there, we can…you know being a Chiefs fan is stressful! Let’s get behind ‘em, they’re trying to rebuild, and we all have the same goal in mind…to go all the way. Go Chiefs and bring on The Pats.

I don't think I had too much of a problem with Green actually starting that game. My problem was not putting Huard in after halftime! The announcers knew it, the fans knew it, heck even the Colts knew it and were preparing for it. But of course Herm didn't do it and therefore it cost us any opportunity to win a game when the Colts were really having an off day! Trent was just not himself that day and one of Herms responsibilities as a Head Coach is to notice when guys are not performing and to do something about it. He just doesn't seem to get it! I love Trent and what he brought to our Chiefs, but in that playoff game which was only 9-0 at halftime with Manning getting flustered all day, the win was there for the taking. But if a Coach is not a good game strategist (probably Herm's weakest point), then what are we to do other than scream from the rafters hoping he will hear! I'm still surprised to this day that no other Coach stepped up to the plate to tell him what needed to be done. Were those coaches that day as blinded as Herm with the National spotlight?.

It's easy to say Huard "should" have started the playoff game now, since we ended up stinking up the place and he couldn't have done much worse. But come on, Huard hadn't played since week 10 (except for 3 passes against Jax). Not to mention that Trent was the more proven quarterback and had just helped get us to the playoffs with a 4-3 record after coming back from the concussion.

Take hindsight out of it and Trent was easily the correct decision. It just turned out to be a bad game.

Now, argue if you will that Huard should have kept the starting job all season. That's at least debatable (Huard was 5-3 as a starter). But given that trent started the last 7 games of the season, he had to be the starter.

Goldzone44, you hit the nail on the head, we were headed for the super bowl with Huard and Herm screwed it up again. The same happened with Gannon and Grbac, I think it is more King Carl making bad decisions than Herm but not quite sure.

Trent Green was and is a great guy! And he was a very good QB for the Chiefs! He however should not have been playing in the playoff game against the Colts! Based on his serious concussion he was just not ready! Plus, we had a hot QB at the time (Huard) who should have been in the game! Things may have been different! That was the beginning of the end of Edwards support from many Chiefs fans! The respect we may have had for Herm before that game quickly dissapated after that coaching performance! And then to follow it up with a 4-12 campaign deserved a pink slip! But he is still here and we are dealing with the fallout!

I agree. Class Act on and off the field. Hated to see him leave KC. Wish our O-line could have given him more time throw, he probably would of had ANOTHER good season here. I will be keeping an eye on him again this year.

Trent Green has a whole lot heart- I like Trent, he's the most underated QB in the league. I wish him well and I hope he has his own cinderella story in St.Louis just like Warner got when Trent went down. I'm not sad to say that the bad part of his story is that when he faces the Chiefs in that Super Bowl all he will hear is the same thing he's going to hear Thurs. Night--TOUCHDOWN KAANNSASSS CITYYYYYYY

HAHA , But I still love ya Trent,, Rock -n- Roll!!!!!!
