Pollard Will Not be Fined for Hit on Brady

[Kansas City.com] Chiefs coach Herm Edwards said he has been told by NFL officials that safety Bernard Pollard will not be fined for his low tackle attempt on New England quarterback Tom Brady that ended Brady’s season. Brady left the Patriots’ 17-10 win over the Chiefs in the first quarter because of a knee injury after being hit by Pollard.

“It was a legal hit,” Edwards said. “He was actually getting pulled, so he will not be getting fined. They’ve told me that.”

The NFL rule states that a hit to the knees is not a foul if the defender is blocked into the player and has no opportunity to avoid the contact.

Pollard was on the ground and lunged for Brady. As he did, he was hit by New England running back Sammy Morris.

    2. Randy Moss wouldn’t know a legal hit if it hit him in the face! He is just pissed because he is not going to get his ring this year either!

    3. I can’t believe this is even a question. Pollard had a guy on his back, was just trying to get to him, and most importantly TOM STEPPED INTO IT!!!! Am I the only one that actually watched the hit?

People just freak out and need excuses because it’s “Tom Terrific” and can’t just accept that he’s hurt.

    4. Pollard did NOTHING wrong. This is a very physical sport and this type of thing happens from time to time (Carson Palmer playoffs 1st round) I just hope this does not cause him to “dial down” his aggressive style of play. We need 52 more just like him.

    6. Maybe if there wasnt someone riding on pollards back pulling his face mask back he wouldnt have showed everyone how much of a pussy tom brady is! Randy Moss was too busy fumbling down field without getting hit, how would he know if it was a illegal hit? (which it wasnt at all!)

    7. Yeah, the NFL should review its guidelines for calling holding penalties. But, I should know by now that the refs arent going to call one on New England!

    8. Obviously the referees have not seen pass interference being committed by a member of the New England Patriots either. Just ask Dwayne Bowe (yes he should have caught the 1st down pass, my little sister would have caught it)

    10. im not saying this because i dont think brady is not a great player or anything because he is bad ass but i think its pretty sad that a hit to a person like him is like O my god what happen that player meant to hit him… its football, he had the choice to play or not but its pretty ridiculous when there saying that it was on purpose, just think about how many dumbasses there are in this world. I know Brodie is not the best and a lot of people have issues with him, but i think its pretty funny that Brodie gets hurt and noone gives a crap, people will just say o well its football people get hurt, and no one shouts that was a dirty hit! Fine Him! and to think, that Thomas meant to hurt brodie more then pollard meant to hurt brady cause you know damn well that the patriots were pretty heated by that time. but im not saying that Thomas meant to hurt croyle either.

    12. Anyone notice Pollard had his facemask grabbed and pulled while he was on the ground and right before the hit on Brady? Should have been a 15 yard penalty on NE!
