[Topeka Capital-Journal] Herm Edwards knows the identity of his starting quarterback for Sunday’s game in Atlanta. He also knows he wants that guy to go the distance against the Falcons, as opposed to running on a three-man quarterback relay team as was the case in last weekend’s Oakland loss.
But until he informs that quarterback of his decision, Edwards will withhold the information from what remains of his fan base.
Saying that he hadn’t informed his starter as of his Tuesday afternoon weekly news conference, Edwards promised to reveal his choice between Damon Huard – the designated backup and leading contender – and youngster Tyler Thigpen today.
The key could be Huard’s availability after leaving the Raider game with a head/neck injury. Edwards said Tuesday he expects to have Huard available at today’s practice.
