[Kansas City.com] Chiefs coach Herm Edwards said at a news conference Tuesday that he is “leaning” toward starting Damon Huard at quarterback on Sunday.
Huard came into Kansas City’s opener against New England after starter Brody Croyle was hurt and almost led the Chiefs to an upset in a 17-10 loss to the Patriots.
Huard started against Oakland in Kansas City’s second game before being pulled early for second-year pro Tyler Thigpen in a 23-8 loss.

I think we should pull the coaching job from herm

FIRE CARL. FIRE HERM. Can we at least give culpepper a shot? and we didn’t even look at joey harrington a shot before the saints took him…. On a side note, Trent’s getting the nod in STL.

Until the O-line improves it wouldn’t matter if we had Peyton Manning in there.
If you cannot establish a running game, and the QB is running for his life the second he snappes the ball on passing downs the offense will struggle.
Every defensive coordinator in the league will continue to blitz and play 8 or 9 in the box until the line can hold their blocks long enough to get some deep pass routes run.
The defensive was also smoked in Atlanta.
The TEAM simply isn’t playing well enough to win.
I for one am not surprised; We have 15 rookies and 8 second year players out of the 53 man roster – it will take several games for the team to get in any sort rhythm.

IT DOES’NT MATTER “”"WHAT WE DO”"” UNTILL WE GET A NEW HEAD COACH AND A NEW OFFENSIVE CORD. THEN WE WILL CONTINUE TO SUCK AND CONTINUE TO BE THE LAUGHING STOCK OF THE NFL,,,,EVERY TEAM KNOWS EXACTLY EVERY PLAY WE CALL BEFORE WE EVEN RUN IT,,,BECUSE WE ARE “”"NON-DEMENTIONAL”"” ,,,PLEASE BRING COACH COWHER OUT OF RETIREMENT AND OFF THE CBS PREGAME SHOW AND TO THE CHIEFS SO WE CAN BECOME A WINNER AGAIN!!!!

We should fire King Carl and replace him Marty Shottenheimer and fire Herm and replace him with Bill Cowher. What do you guys think?
Comment by Stich — September 23, 2008 @ 5:39 pm
Amen BOB, thats what I have been saying. Doesnt matter who we start.
I for one am sick of seeing our team give up after one big play from the other teams. And it boils my blood to see Herm on the sides just standing there. no emotions, to anger, no happiness for when they do well. nothing. It is one of the main reasons our team is not even being semi competitive. they have lost their heart. even Gun is not fired up as he usually is.

Discussing the coaching job… how about Bill Cowher! exactly what we need, amazing leadership and someone that wont put up with the bull shit! HireBillCowher.com – who’s starting it?

CLARK HUNT SUCKS…

If I were Damon I’d continue to fake an injury…what the hell, that’s what Brodie’s doing, right? Who the hell wants to get clobbered every down? They’re not making enough money for that, only LJ and Tony G are making serious dough…hell, LJ’s crybabypissypants stunt last year must have tied up a crapload of cash that we could have utilized to dazzle some of our other players.
I cannot believe the Broncos are undefeated, I hate them more than the Raiders, I have ever since that awful, nightmarish AFC championship game. And then after that, the Panthers!! You gotta be shitting me! I haven’t hurt like this for awhile, I forgot how painful it is…I don’t think anything’s going to happen NOW as far as management, etc. Let’s stop offing people’s heads…Let not your hearts be troubled; shit WILL hit the fan in January. Let’s keep our hearts with the guys and our heads up…09′s the year, not now…(Please football God, don’t let it be Denver’s year either, PLEASE!!)
I’m feelin’ a Quarterback and o linemen in the draft, oh yeah bitches. Let’s shake our heads at the coaches and management while keeping our support with the guys. A win, just one, would cure so much angst and then there’s another, and another…Let’s do it before the Rams do! I am happy for Trent though, I heard they benched Bulger today.

hey herm,
here is a fresh idea for you and no other nfl team would expect it. why dont we sign 16 quarterbacks so we could have a different on every weak…. BRILLIANT!!!! no one would see that coming, and maybe we could find a decent one out of the bunch. besides, we already have 4 and a scat back on the roster. we will need all the extra qb’s because each week one will get KILLED because our O line CANT BLOCK!!!!!! LEANING TOWARDS HUARD………..pleeeaase, just make a decision and stick with it. what the hell is hermeroid thinking!!!
good thing the DR. gave me a seasons worth of antidepressants (lol). that is if the last that long!!! think i will go take one right now!!
go chiefs!!!

Just read that Broncos have the youngest offense in the league AND have the highest scoring offense…
Looks like Shanahan knows how to coach and win with a YOUTH movement once again proving that Herm STINKS and his “rebuilding” and “youth movement” are more EXCUSES!
i know this sounds like a conflict, but it would be so awesome if people started showing up to games wearing FIRE HERM GEAR and got some TV time showing it off! would it send a message if their were just blocks of fans wearing the same message???
funny that Herm can’t even get this right

Good lord. Why can’t people just come to the conclusion that a MAJOR mistake was made in keeping CP and letting him hire HE? I have been listening to radio and watching online forums since Sunday. What gives? NO ONE will just say what needs to be said; this coach is a disaster and the team owner is burying his head in the sand about it. I have heard a bunch of fans saying Thigpen should just go ahead and start since we “are going young”. I hear a commentator this morning say how upset Minnesota was that we grabbed Thigpen from their practice roster? Practice roster?!!! Oh boy, I suppose next we’ll hear about how silly it was to let go of Medlock the kicker last year and that some smart team is just sitting back waiting to grab this guy up from whatever discount store he is working at now. Before anyone catches on to what a bargain he is. It is just plain sad. We have been reduced to this moronic, grasp at all straws mentality in some bizarre search for sensibility. Face it. We have a worn out, out of date front office, a totally inept coaching staff, and a fan base that is about two more bad losses from just flat giving up on the team. Notice to Clark Hunt; WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE? 15,000 fans at Arrowhead and blackouts? I have said it before and I say once again; Herm has LOST this team. They sense and know at some level the guy is full of it. Just listen to his dog and pony show yesterday. He may be giving away the gameplan? Guess what genius? Everyone in the league knows the game plan. Run up the middle and we just goin’ go get em. I am not kidding when I say I don’t know if I can or will watch another game this year. I am going to say something I NEVER thought I’d ever hear myself say. I hope we go 0-16. If for no other reason than to just hammer home how inept this franchise is. Can you imagine it? I am saying that I want Denver to go 2-0 againts us. Freakin’ Denver! I am just so completely disenfranchised with this so called coach. I hate it that I knew it when the talk started about hiring him in the first place. More cronyism. Sorry to vent so much guys but after hearing what passed for a press conference yesterday, and I only heard snippets of it, I am at an all time low about the Chiefs. Total incompetence.

Chiefs Make Falcons Look Like Champs
Posted Sep 21st 2008 2:00PM by JJ Cooper (author feed)
Filed under: Chiefs, Falcons, AFC West, NFC South
You’re never going to be in good shape when you’re starting your third different quarterback during the third game of the season, but for the Chiefs it’s been a complete disaster.
With Brodie Croyle and Damon Huard hurt, the Chiefs handed the starting job to second-year pro Tyler Thigpen. Thigpen looked OK last week in a Chiefs loss, but apparently he’s forgotten anything he ever learned about playing quarterback.
With less than five minutes to go in the first half, Thigpen is 2-for-13 for 12 yards and two interceptions. Until he connected on a 13-yarder midway through the second quarter, he hadn’t completed a pass beyond the line of scrimmage, and he’s also been sacked once.
The Falcons may be still a long ways from the playoffs, but any Chiefs’ fans watching today have to wish they could be in the Falcons’ shoes. Atlanta has a promising young quarterback (Matt Ryan is 6-for-12 for 127 yards and a touchdown), the better running back (Michael Turner has 15 carries for 75 yards while the shell of Larry Johnson has seven carries for 19 yards), better receivers and a better defense.
The Falcons were supposed to be the worst team in the NFL coming into the season, but after watching the first half this week, it’s clear the Chiefs are truly the NFL’s worst.
THIS IS A SAD DAY IN CHIEFLAND!!!!

Chiefs Called Browns About Brady Quinn Trade, Browns Said Quinn Is Not Available
Posted Sep 21st 2008 12:51PM by Michael David Smith (author feed)
The Kansas City Chiefs called the Cleveland Browns last week and inquired as to whether the Browns would consider trading their backup quarterback, Brady Quinn. The Browns told the Chiefs that Quinn, whom they chose in the first round of last year’s draft, isn’t going anywhere.
The news, first reported by Jay Glazer on Fox (via PFT), calls into question whether the Chiefs have any faith in Brodie Croyle as their quarterback of the future, and whether the Browns have any faith in Derek Anderson as their quarterback of the future.
The Browns seem to believe that Quinn will be their starter some day relatively soon, even though Anderson is just 25 years old and had a Pro Bowl season in 2007. As for the Chiefs, they might already be thinking about the 2009 draft, which doesn’t look like it’s going to be a good one for quarterbacks, and wondering if they ought to make a move now that will prevent them from having to reach for a quarterback in April.

so herm really believes in brody???

Is there some kind of list or website I can go to and sign a petition to fire herm and carl? I mean clark seriously how much more can you take? We might not even win 1 game this year, and they should have been gone after last year. How much more can you as a lifetime chiefs fan take? If anyone knows of a petition please let me know.
