    1. Go after Joey Harington. He is atleast better than what we have…shit…let Tony G take some snaps in practice this week. Of course I am just being negative…Damon is the veteren and I am glad to see it is him vs. Tyler(couldnt hit his own reciever standing still)Thigpen. C’Mon boys…upset the Donkeys and and and…nevermind.

    8. I just read a story on nfl.com (reported by Adam Schefter) that Tony G. would consider a trade to a playoff team. Herm is now running our favorite player out of town. Here’s the story.

      Adam Schefter
Could TE Gonzalez play for another team?
The topic came up Tuesday between an NFL Network reporter and a Chiefs official: Would Kansas City tight end Tony Gonzalez be willing to finish his career in another city, with another team, that had a realistic chance of winning the Super Bowl?

Reporter thought yes, Chiefs official thought no.

Then, the question was posed to Gonzalez on Wednesday and he set the record straight. While it might not be the ideal scenario, he could see himself going to Chiefs management and requesting a trade to a Super-Bowl contender.

“Yeah. I definitely could, but I love being a Chief,” Gonzalez said Wednesday. “But if it was something where it was going to take three or four years or whatever before they get this thing right, I think it would be in their best interest to maybe see what they can get and send me off.

“But I love being a Chief and I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else at this point. At the end of this season, hopefully I don’t have to ask that. Hopefully we get this thing turned around. I’ve got a family now. I came here when I just turned 21, so this is home. That’s where I’m at right now with that.”

It makes sense. A rebuilding Chiefs team gets a first-day draft pick in return for a tight end that is only going to play another couple of seasons. Gonzalez knows what a delicate subject it is. He handled his answer just the right way.

But know this: The losing has to be driving him mad. He hasn’t won a playoff game as a member of the Chiefs. Nor has linebacker Donnie Edwards, who could be another candidate Kansas City could consider trading. If Kansas City can get fair value for Gonzalez and/or Edwards, they are deals the Chiefs should think long and hard about.

Filed under: Economy, Etc., Plants/Manufacturing, Hatchbacks, India, Tata

The Tata Nano, which will be the world’s least expensive car, has already exacted enormous sums of money and time. A dispute over the location of a new factory has cost Tata close to a year of court wrangling and might end up spoiling a £200 million investment. Now the efforts to build the Nano have cost a life.

Unhappy workers were invited to a meeting with Indian and Italian executives of Cerlikon-Graziano Transmissions, which makes auto parts, to discuss reinstatement. Only a few workers were in the meeting, but more than a hundred were waiting outside. When those outside heard someone inside call for help, they rushed in, and in a mob fog anger, bludgeoned the company’s operations head, Lalit Kishore Choudhary, to death.

    23. No dont trade Tony. He is worth more than that. Im pretty sure that the team he wants to go to will not give us the picks so it will be a lot of anger inside TG. I say cut him and let him hit the market and get what he deserves from a Superbowl Contender team. Herm has come in and destoyed the best tight end in NFL history. The only way to make it better is to cut him!!!!!!!

    24. Fans, calm down. Me and Carl are doing everything we can to take the chiefs down the right path. I mean, hell, tyler didnt do to bad, not bad at all. Next week, we are thinking about putting Damon Macintosh at QB, letting him run the option and have dick vermeil as the RB. Me and Carl think thats the best way for us to get a win. Those 2 guys are proven winners, i mean hell, vermeil won a damn superbowl! Surely he can play RB. We will see this week, evaluate vermeil at RB and Macintosh at QB and see how it goes. If Macintosh has a slow first half, we MIGHT put a delicious loaf of bread as the QB and if Vermeil dies, we’ll put a hilarious oversized hat as the RB and see how that goes. YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME!!!!!!

    25. Oh brother. I kinda figured to give Tony G. one or two years under this system, and he would retire out of disgust. He’s not gonna get a Super Bowl as long as he’s here! I can’t remember a Chiefs team that has looked so horrible in a long , long time! Denver is gonna come in here, it’ll be 30-0 before herm and crew wake up to play!

How does it feel to run your 2nd NFL team into a downward spiral? 4 winnings seasons out of 8. 3 of those 4 winning seasons due to the previous coach. Ruining every quarterback you ever coached.

    38. Man I do not like the Donks. If there are two games I want to win every season, it is the two we play against the Donks. I have a standing bet with a friend on the Chiefs and Donkeys game and it appears Herm has the team in bad enough shape that I will have to pay off twice this season. And yes, I have a VERY MISGUIDED friend who likes the Donks. He lived in Denver for many years. Great guy, he just can’t seem to understand that the Donkeys suck. I sure hope Damon Huard doesn’t get knocked out of this game in the first quarter, or we are really sunk.

    39. I went to the Chargers game last year at KC. During halftime they did a tribute to Eric Warfield, and Carl did the talking for it. It was a sea of boos. So I’d say that Hunt knows that he is going to have a full scale riot on his hands, or maybe a mutiny by his players. And if Hunt doesn’t know it, i say clone Lamar and talk Cowher out of retirement, i don’t care how much we pay him, we need to kick Herm’s sorry ass out, and we need to do it yesterday.

    41. Dear Fans,

The Chiefs are on a youth movement, but since we started a respectable 0-3 you seem to be slightly irritated. Especially with the offensive averaging almost 11 points per game. I just don’t understand the hostility. That is a lot of points in my humble opinion. So to save my job I will start Damon Huard. It kills me to play him since he played so well a couple of years ago in place of an injured Trent Green. I hope you fans know what you are asking me to do! We win this game and I get to come back and coach next year fo sho!

If you see the light at the end of the tunnel, we are trying to get the first pick in the draft because that is what real winners do. Come on now, I just feel it is way easier to lose enough games rather than trade up to get the number 1 pick.

Getting the number 1 pick is a good thing, not a bad thing. Remember that, write it down so you don’t forget how awesome I am.

      Your friend,

      Herm Edwards
      Head Coach
      KC Chiefs

      PS…when will this misery end?

      Ahhh Booo!

    43. There is no respite……. we’re doomed. There is no hope for this team, which is sad because we did draft some really good talent. Unfortunatly we do not have the staff to turn them into winners, Herm seems to love to call them kids or something else of that nature but instead they need to be turned into professional football players……I guess to Herm it’s to early in their careers to call them men. I can’t wait for this loser ass piece of crap to not be a part of this once proud franchise.

Chiefs Called Browns About Brady Quinn Trade, Browns Said Quinn Is Not Available
Posted Sep 21st 2008 12:51PM by Michael David Smith (author feed)

The Kansas City Chiefs called the Cleveland Browns last week and inquired as to whether the Browns would consider trading their backup quarterback, Brady Quinn. The Browns told the Chiefs that Quinn, whom they chose in the first round of last year’s draft, isn’t going anywhere.

The news, first reported by Jay Glazer on Fox (via PFT), calls into question whether the Chiefs have any faith in Brodie Croyle as their quarterback of the future, and whether the Browns have any faith in Derek Anderson as their quarterback of the future.

The Browns seem to believe that Quinn will be their starter some day relatively soon, even though Anderson is just 25 years old and had a Pro Bowl season in 2007. As for the Chiefs, they might already be thinking about the 2009 draft, which doesn’t look like it’s going to be a good one for quarterbacks, and wondering if they ought to make a move now that will prevent them from having to reach for a quarterback in April.

    45. Hell………give us Anderson. The Browns can give us either qb and we will be way ahead of where we are now. Huard is a pros pro and I’m glad he is stickin’ it out with us after the coaching staff has shown zero interest in his ability. Getting a nice paycheck also helps you to be a pros pro as well.

    58. I can’t wait to hear the negativity on this site because you saw today all kansas city draft picks making plays. We will win six more games this year getting god position for next year. we could go far with our division being made of absolute shit. If we can manage a win against san diego and can somehow win in Denver we will make the playoffs at 8-8 or 9-7 with the division lead. It is possible, but I am just glad to see good football. Actually one of the best games I have seen in years. I have been to every home since thanksgiving 2006 and it was up their with that win. A defense that give up almost 450 yards but holds the opposing team to less than 20 points is amazing and shows the true heart and sole of this team. Fuck Hermy haters cause you don’t know shit from shinola. No team we play from this point on is out of reach if we can play the intensity we played with on sunday. We played chiefs ball!! and won. Chan Gailey who you fuckers got your 30 plus points. Yes Denver was overrated but we are seriously underrated. We are no top ten team without the chemistry all there, but we are building chemisty with what happened today and this is a just a building block I’m sure JD and Vermeillikestocry will through Fox and friends spin on the game, but like I have been asking for all season we had fans today and it helped more than anyone of you could understand. We reached above 100 decibels for the first time in a long time. We had 95% great play calling 95% great execution by everyone and we won because we had both. any less and we could have let the donkeys into the game. Oh and did I mention we held a lead for 95% of the game too. Looks like someone has been learning from his experience as a coach. Ir looks like we finally have a Team.
