[Kansas City.com] Rookie left tackle Branden Albert was carted off the field late in the second quarter Sunday because of a hyperextended right elbow.

Coach Herm Edwards didn’t elaborate on Albert’s condition after the Chiefs’ 33-19 win against Denver, saying that the rookie would be evaluated again today.

“We don’t know where he’s at,” Edwards said.

Second-year tackle Herb Taylor replaced Albert in the lineup Sunday.

    1. could be worse…..and LJ did say that Herb Taylor did a good job filling in, but that was against an undersized bronco d-line on a defense that’s suspect

    2. it looked like he tweaked the right knee when he was falling at first…i would rather it be an arm than a knee though, thats for sure.

    3. You guys played well, many props, well see you when you come to Denver. But one last thing, I still can’t believe that 50% of you said the Chiefs wouldn’t win a game. Seriously where is the loyalty there? Not win a game? Wow!!!

    5. May the whining now stop. Great win over the Donkeys.
      GO CHIEFS!!

Elway7 – Just goes to prove – Ye who talks S*** ends up eating it!
The Donks came into the game way overrated and were shown up. 2 lucky wins, and no Defense. The Chiefs ran over them – as many teams will this season.
      Hope you enjoyed your Sunday.

    10. Wow….. that’s all I can say!
It actually felt good to watch a Chiefs game….. it had been a LONG TIME since I felt that way!
I thought the play calling was better than it had been for awhile…. still too many ‘dink and dunk’ sideways passes, but oh well… we’ll take a win when we can get one.
Looking at our QB corps, Huard “IS” the answer if we want want to win NOW…I thought he played a smart game.

    11. although the win does feel good it seems to bring up a few things 1 we need a qb croyle is not the answer also we through the ball to our rb and d bowe but franklin and the other receiver where only looked at 1 so we defenitly need a receiver i mean if the right side of the field is not going to be looked at darling people are not going to send there fs or ss over there causing doubles to triples on d bowe the past 4 games w the exception of the one big pass to darling our qb’s arent looking to the right we need to fix hopefully franklin steps up

    12. Wow, I’m stunned. Surtain needs to sit. We need both Brandons to start NOW and the rest of the season. They played great and were the key to victory.

    16. Felt good to actually watch a game and enjoy it….now let`s see if the team plays like that consistently. If they do, then the season might not end up the way every espn jerkoff said it would end up. LET`S GET A WIN IN CHARLOTTE!

    17. First off, we won the game becuz the offensive line let LJ do his thing.(thats 2games in a row, so its safe to say that herm is getting improvements outta the o-line.) We cant keep sayin that we need a qb until u can actually evaluate Croyle.(the kid has a strong arm and is quick for a white qb. and remember hes still young) Besides everyone knows that herm wont go after a top qb in the draft neways. So its safe to say the biggest offensive concern is depth a WR and OL.

The defense looks good, bad, and ugly at times. The good: Our safeties impress me they are great and should be solid for years. The corners seem to struggle, @times, but i think its mostly cuz the DL doesnt get pressure. Surtain is still decent which given his age is surprising and rookie flowers is a great surprise, carr has alot of learning to do to if he wants to take surtains place, but hes a decent 3rd option. The bad: I myself expect more outta the LB core. They should be great. Which could also b the DL fault for never really gettin pressure, but where are all the takles, or sacks? RBs are running rite past them. The safeties are makin all the takles. The ugly: Obviously the Dline. They dont clog holes for the LBs, and they dont get pressure to help the secondary. Do they do anything? Since Jared Allen left even Hali has dissapeared. So the Denfensive concerns are DL, legitamite #1 CB to play next to Flowers, and LB depth to push the LBs we have.

So herm needs to draft best possible players for DL, CB, WR, OL in the first 4 rounds. Then best possible for LB, DL, and QB in rounds 5-7. cuz why not hope for the next tom brady!ha

Let me kno what u think fellow chiefs fans……

    18. It is this simple the Chiefs can win with Huard. Play Huard no losing streak. The guy does pretty good in there. Forget this make everybody else suffer while a young QB develops crap. The league has no true dominant team this year and the Chiefs with Huard can hang with anybody This Year. The guy came in the New England game and played great to be benched for Thigpen what a slap in all of our faces. I hope that loser move by Herm did not ruin the season. 2 loses that the Chiefs could have won with Huard… There was no neck injury in the Raiders game worthy of pulling him. Stick with Huard all year and see what we can do. I saw him beat the crap out of Chargers last year in San Diego. Herm is a jerk if he does not give this guy a true chance to lead the Chiefs.

    19. BobM,

“May the whining stop now”, come on Bob, one win against a team that was 3-0 but could have very easily been 1-2 and you’re ready to forget the past 2 seasons? Wow, if we win two in a row you want to give Carl and Herm new contracts I guess. Get real Bob and think with your head not your heart. Everyone on this site wants the Chiefs to win but as long as we have Herm we are doomed.

    20. As long as the running game is working then Huard can manage the game and not lose it for us, but thats about it. The Chiefs wont be a true contender unless Croyle shows us something we havent seen yet (i know the o-line is real bad but c’mon). In a way he kinda reminds me of Favre with the Falcons, good arm but makes too many bad decisions & throws picks. I think what concerns me most is that he seems to get hurt a lot already. How many games was he out last year from injuries? and he gets hurt in the first game this year!!! I would love to see them draft a top QB next year, but it’s highly unlikely.

    21. I think Huard can lead this team right now into the playoffs. When he is in the game the Chiefs are a contender right now. Montana was not running all over the place when he played for us. We don’t need a runner we just need a reliable arm that gets the ball out on time and accuratly. Why tank the season now. The Chiefs have a team that can play with anybody in the league right now. The only time that we look bad is when we play with these young QB’s. Huard can make the throws to win the game. He is excellent in the red zone and moves our dangerous offense down the field. We have as many weapons as anybody. And the D is good at taking the ball away. 1 pass rusher away from an instant contender.

    25. i truely dont think croyle is our answer he has poor decisions and who cares if he has a arm what speedsters do we have we havent had speedsters in years so now we need to hope that we get speedsters to help croyle why not get a smarter qb its easier than coaching croyle for years to find out ha doesnt respond to the blitzs or read the d

    26. I wish Herb Taylor would get more playing time. He played a litle last year and I thought he did well. Len Dawson also though he played well also! I thought this team was trying to get younger. Damion McIntosh could go! Let the young guys play!
