[KC Chiefs.com] The NFL informed the Chiefs on Wednesday that LB Derrick Johnson has been named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in Week Four of the 2008 NFL regular season. This marks the first time Johnson has earned this distinction.
The fourth-year pro contributed seven tackles, a half of a sack (-4.5 yards), a forced fumble that led to a touchdown drive and an interception in the Kansas City victory over Denver.

The word here is consistency. DJ needs to have games like this every week for our defense to be successful. Go Chiefs!

THIS WAS A PLEASANT SURPRISE TO HAVE CHIEFS DEFENSE PLAY LIKE THAT AND IT WAS FUN TO WATCH,,,REMINDED ME OF GOOD MEMORIES OF THE PAST!!BUT I AGREE THAT THIS “D” WILL NEED TO PLAY EVERY WEEK WITH THAT CONSISTENCY AND AGGRESSIVE ATTACK MODE BEFORE WE WILL BE FEARED FROM OTHER TEAMS.IF THIS WAS ANY INDICATION OF WHATS TO COME IN THE NEAR FUTURE,,,MAN,,,THEY WILL BE FUN TO WATCH,,,BUT OUR PLAY CALLING ON OFFENSE STILL NEEDS ALOT OF WORK AND NEEDS TO BECOME NON-PREDICTABLE AND MORE AGGRESSIVE BIGTIME,,,GO CHIEFS!!

This guy used to dominate at Texas. If he can start changing games like he did in college that would be awesome! Keep it going Derrick J!

I wish he would have had a game like this in week 2. But here’s hoping that he can have a repeat of this with Carolina’s two tackles out.
