Gonzalez Trade is Possible

[Kansas City.com] The Chiefs are reportedly talking to other teams about a trade involving tight end Tony Gonzalez.

The NFL trade deadline, which rarely sees any action, is Tuesday.

Gonzalez, a nine-time Pro Bowler who has been with the Chiefs since he was drafted in 1997, has never won a playoff game, and he would like to get a chance to win a championship before he retires.

But compensation for Gonzalez would be expected to be an issue in trade talks. The Chiefs are not likely to settle for a low-round draft pick, but other teams may not be willing to give up much more for a 32-year-old tight end, even if he is a future Hall of Famer.

    1. Heard about this this morning. Tony requested a trade and who can blame him. Teams showing the most interest are the Giants, Packers, Bucs, and I think there was one more but I can’t really remember.

    2. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Not Tony! Yet I want to see him get a ring even if not in a Chiefs uniform. I just hope he comes back to the Chiefs to retire as a Chief. Please God, let lightning strike Herm and Carl.

    3. You know as much as I like Tony and as much as the Chiefs need him still, he deserves to have a shot at a super bowl or at least be on a winning team his final years. He has earned it.

    4. Ok well if that happens then the chiefs will no longer be my favorite team and as much as it kills me to say that but it’s likly to happen. I’m sick and tired of ALL THIS BULLSH*T. That’s what Carl and Herm will do is make me no longer a Chief fan.

    5. Great move if the Chiefs can get a decent draft pick for him. But I hope they take nothing less than a 3rd for him. I hope Carl doesn’t fall in to the “we owe Tony” crap. Tony’s been well paid during his tenure as a Chief.

    6. Why in the hell won’t we trade Larry Johnson AKA (crybaby/non-blocker)and keep Tony? Can someone please explain? TRADE LJ!!!

    9. you know, as much as i’m completely pissed and fed up with all the crap that is going on… i’ve endured alot as a chiefs fan. from losing the afc championship to buffalo, to lin elliott’s non-kickin @$$ in the ’95 playoffs, to rich gannon getting traded instead of elvis “self-centered” grbac. This is likely not to change my loyalties, I bleed red and gold, but it is very disappointing to see the team like this. hopefully this awesome draft class we just got is supplemented by a better draft class, and Chiefs reign supreme for many years to come. But best of luck to “gonzo” if he does get dealt, he’ll always be a Chief in my book though.

    10. how bad does an orginization and coaching staff have to be to get tony to ask for a trade??? carl and herm have totally fucked up this team!! lets just move the orginization to california!!!

      Comment by dennis — October 11, 2008 @ 7:48 pm

    11. First they trade Jared and now they want to trade Tony. Lets see trade away your two best team players and keep LJ who is a cancer on the team that only cares about himself. What will Carl and Herm do next to destroy our team? If he does get traded I hope its to the Giants because I think that will be his best chance to get the championship he deserves as the best TE ever. I’d even cheer for the Giants which I hate to admit.

    12. Tony has been nothing less than a class act since he graced us with his presence in Kansas City. For Tony G.not getting to win at least a playoff game in TEN YEARS as a Chief, it really shows you how pathetic our front office and…uh…CARL PETERSON is! I certainly can’t blame Tony for wanting to go somewhere where he has an actual chance to win. At the same time, I agree with everyone on here suggesting we get rid of our diaper-wearing running back, LJ. If we’re going to “rebuild” then let’s rebuild!

      Comment by Jerid — October 11, 2008 @ 9:55 pm

    13. I swear, if I didn’t know better, I would think Clark is letting Carl & Herm pull a real life “Major League”.

4-12 in ’07 isn’t bad enough? Let’s get rid of our best defender. 1-4 in ’08 isn’t bad enough? Let’s get rid of our best offensive player & future HoFer.

They are daring Chief fans to not like their team. There has to be something else going on. Or maybe Herm is so insecure he has to get rid of anyone who dares question him.

      Comment by JD — October 12, 2008 @ 12:17 am

    14. If He gets traded I want a 2nd not 2 threes. The contract we gave larry last year means we aren’t going to trade him because it’s too big of a cap hit. I’m surprised no one has interest in some of our other backs. They all showed great promise but nothing of which LJ has shown. I went to carolina to see the record breaking catch. Only thing that I enjoyed that game. With Tony being in his 3rd year of a five year deal now would be the time and the price for him would be cheap considering his preformance on the field. He will always be a chief Just like Emmit smith is always a cowboy. Go chiefs we aren’t dead yet

      Comment by erick — October 12, 2008 @ 12:18 am

    15. Oh well, go ahead and trade LJ and Brian Waters too. While we are at it lets get rid of Donnie Edwards again. Cut/trade Ron Edwards, Damion McIntosh, Damon Huard, Patrick Surtain, John McGraw, Napoleon Harris, and Alphonso Boone so we will have a team with players under 30 and be similar to a college team. Then the rebuilding phase will be complete.

      Comment by J-Rock in TX — October 12, 2008 @ 6:26 am

    16. Hell we should get the Jets first round picks for the next 5 years for taking that losing moron Herm off their hands. I’m starting to hate Sundays and what’s so funny is that you hear absolutely NOTHING from Clark Hunt about the state of this team. Rebuilding is one thing but you should see some improvement from week to week. With Herm, just when you think we couldn’t get any worse, he will surprise you. Watch what King Carl gets for Tony. We’ll be lucky if Carl negotiates a fourth round pick for him. God I’m sick of this shit.

    17. See this is how bad of a job that Carl Peterson has done,Here a hall of famer has to leave to get on a winning team because Carl cant do his damn job and keep us at least competitive so we don’t have to lose our great players to other teams who are ran by real general managers. CLARK HUNT GROW SOME BALLS AND FIRE CARL AND HERM BEFORE WE BECOME THE DETROIT LIONS IF WERE NOT THERE ALREADY.

      Comment by Chris — October 12, 2008 @ 9:41 am

    18. I hope Tony G. gets a chance at a ring. He will be a Chief forever no matter what happens. If we don’t get a good draft choice, we should keep him for sure. He was one of the main reasons some of the Chiefs fans come to the games.

      Comment by mjpz — October 12, 2008 @ 10:10 am

    19. Mark,

I disagree about “not hearing from Clark”. Clark has made it PERFECTLY clear. He is behind the rebuilding effort 100%. You are NOT going to see improvement EVERY week. Not this year anyway. You will see inconsistency as young players learn the process. This year, you will see more games like we played in Carolina than you will games like we had against Denver.

As for those who think trading Tony is a BAD idea. Huh? Tony does not fit in to the future of this team. Trading him only makes sense. I agree with trading LJ too. However, I’m not sure anyone is willing to absorb his contract.

    20. Chiefs fans need to boycott Chiefs games until Queen Carl is gone. What does he have to show on track record? Nothing…no AFC championships, no Superbowls, only a couple of decent teams over the years that couldn’t make a run. I love the Chiefs and always have but this is ridiculous. How stupid does one Clark Hunt have to be? Does he want to accomplish the almost impossible and lose a majority of the most loyal NFL fans ever in existence? I’m not a fair weather fan-for me it’s been Chiefs my whole life but this is f*ckin crazy!! I understand Tony wanting to leave but this team shouldn’t have ever sank this low-Peterson should have been gone years ago and Herm should have never been hired.

      Comment by Brian — October 12, 2008 @ 11:58 am

    21. Chfsfan,

“more games like we played in Carolina”?

There have only been 6 games IN THE HISTORY of the Chiefs that were worse. Do you like watching the Chiefs get humiliated?

How is it Atlanta & Miami, who were worse, can turn it around IN ONE YEAR? Answer that.

Since all Herm & Carl supporters can’t, I will. It’s because Miami & Atlanta have COMPETENT coaches & GMs who care about WINNING.

It’s amazing. I don’t think I’ve heard Miami or Atlanta complain ONCE about the previous coach leaving the cupboard bare. 3 years later, Herm is STILL blaming DV.

As recently as LAST WEDNESDAY, Herm now faults making the playoffs as yet another reason the team has been set back. WTF?

      Comment by JD — October 12, 2008 @ 11:59 am

    22. Hey chfsfan, have you only been a chiefs fan for two years or something? Are you as stupid as Clark, Carl, and Herm? True Chiefs fans are done making excuses for this organization. FIRE CARL AND HERM!!!!!!!!! I’m tired of having the motto “wait ’till next year.” As long as the Queen is there then nothing will ever be done-has he proven me wrong??!!??

    25. Thanks to carl and herm for bringing me back to hockey. This will be the firt season since the strike I will watch. Whoever thinks this is a good idea is an efin pinhead. We will never get the value of Tony. It’s just a sorry excuse to lose more games bc we need to rebuild TE position. A sorry excuse to bring the team down more so they can justify moving the franchise to L.A. when most of the fans quit filling the seats. It doesn’t matter that major renovations are being done, taxpayers are footing most of the bill anyway. What a way to start my Sunday. I’m so G.D. mad!!

      Comment by Habanero — October 12, 2008 @ 12:06 pm

    26. No Brian, I don’t think I’m stupid. And i’ve been a Chiefs fan for awhile. But I’m also an NFL fan. I look at history of successful franchises. What the Chiefs are doing is a legitimate blueprint for building a winning franchise.

Who is Bill Coher? I’ve heard of Bill Cowher. If that is who you are referring to. Bill Cowher is retired and has stated he has no interest in coaching at this time.

As for the playoff statement. What he said makes sense. Anyone with simple logic abilities can understand it. Making the playoffs set the team back a year in blowing it up because of CARL! He was the one who didn’t want to give up on what he had just yet.

As for the Carolina game. Can’t say that I enjoyed it. I mean I was there surrounded by Panther fans. But again, history has shown that games like this are expected.

But by the same token, it wasn’t fun losing 15 games as a Cowboy fan in 1989 either. The same “crap” was spewing from the lips of Jimmy Johnson and Jerry Jones that I hear from the Chiefs organization now.

But it sure was nice being a Cowboy fan in 1992 and 1993!

I have no excuse for Carl. He’s done a buttload of things over the last 20 years that make you scratch your head. However, I believe that the direction he is taking this time is different from the past. At least it’s a change.

As for the people here who are “giving up their season tickets” Good luck with that.

Anyone who has ever been involved in sports at any level knows one thing. Never listen to the fans. Pee Wee coaches don’t cave to parents and NFL administrations aren’t going to listen to every Joe Schmo with an opinion.

Why? Because they know that this is the first year of a rebuilding PROCESS.

Personally, I don’t know if Herm’s the guy to turn the franchise around. But I’m not ready to concede that he’s NOT the guy either.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. You’re a passenger on this ship at the mercy of the crew running the ship. If you think they ship is running aground…you have two choices. 1. Endure the ride. 2. Jump ship.

    33. I agree with the Scott Fujita example as well as T-Rich and Donnie Edwards. (although bringing Donnie back was a mistake) Boomer was released in Week 2 by Miami. I’m one of the few people with a Boomer Grigsby Jersey but if he’s so great why hasn’t he been picked up by someone? He’s still available. Sorry but Jared Allen was a great trade. We got Brandon Albert and Jamaal Charles for Jared.

    35. Gonzo has always been one that I looked up too. He has always been an up and up guy a never say never type of person. If he quits the chiefs now then he would just be greedy. I understand and I would too, but I don’t preach the never give up when your at your worst times clause.
Tony is tired of being double teamed every sunday because other teams know he’s the only weapon we got. So if he thinks he will get open on any other team that he may go to then he is crazy. No D is going to say Oh! They got TG we can just set one guy on him now that he’s with ?

      Comment by BadBones — October 12, 2008 @ 1:53 pm

    36. What really sucks is that if TG’s traded, we can’t give him recognition before the next home game for breaking the receiving record since Herm decided that he wasn’t gonna throw a 3 yard pass to TG against Denver.

Tony, I wish you the best of luck wherever you go. But please, once Herm and Carl are gone, please come back and retire as a Chief.

On another note. We need to trade LJ and get all we can for him.

      Comment by Carl P. Needs to die — October 12, 2008 @ 1:54 pm

    37. Chfsdan – Come on are you serious? It’s gonna be different this time? Were you even around as recently as Will Shields one of the best ever at his position retiring when he had 1 MAYBE 2 years left and openly admiitted he didn’t aggree with what was goin on. How bout Willie Roaf? Kawika Mitchell? Jared Allen? T-Rich? Joe Horn? These guys WANTED to be Chiefs but got tired of the way Carl handles things. He’s not doing anything different AT ALL(by the way that 30-40 mill under the cap we have and doing NOTHING with, who do you thinks in control of that?) we’re just worse than we have been so we’ve gotta higher draft picks. “YOU CAN STILL BE COMPETITVE AS YOU REBUILD”. I believe that was a quote from Herm after the Chiefs we’re “praised” for the draft class. He takes all the credit and none the blame. No General Manager should have more than 1 title/responsibilty. It doesn’t work. Herm Edwards cannot prepare an entired football team as Head Coach and the Chiefs will not improve whatsoever with this team unless THEY BOTH GO.

      Comment by Tony — October 12, 2008 @ 2:06 pm

    38. Wrong! This is the 2ND year of this rebuilding BS! Many teams have turned it around in the second year, yet we are not even close. In fact, with the QB situation we have this team is going to suck again next year, especially if we draft another YOUNG QB. I think you have to be under the age of 25 to play on this team, so bye bye TG. This “youth movement” is stupid! The second any of these guys start to play well their going to want to be traded or want bigger contracts. Herm actually believes if they start young they will have “loyalty” HA! This is the NFL! There is no such thing. This youth movement never had a chance.

      “Never listen to the fans.”

Dennis: Your a fan right?? So i guess we shouldnt listen to you either.

chfsfan: I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. You’re a passenger on this ship at the mercy of the crew running the ship. If you think they ship is running aground…you have two choices. 1. Endure the ride. 2. Jump ship.

Dennis: I think you fail to recognize, the ship HAS run aground and is sinking fast. What will YOU do!! Better get a big bailing bucket and start bailing!!

chfsfan: As for the playoff statement. What he said makes sense.

Dennis: OK now you are scarin me, you actually understand what Herm is saying?? Would like to intreprit his news conferences for us in the future, so we can understand too?

chfsfan: The same “crap” was spewing from the lips of Jimmy Johnson and Jerry Jones that I hear from the Chiefs organization now.

Dennis: You cant compare Jimmy Johnson and Jerry Jones to Herm and Clark. Jimmy was a real coach and Jerry Jones is an active part of his orginization and a “HUNGRY” owner. Clark shows NO activity in this orginization!!

chfsfan: As for the people here who are “giving up their season tickets” Good luck with that.

Dennis: Just remember this, the Chiefs orginization is a product. We as fans are the consumer of that product. We are the “Customers” of this orginization. Most of us are just sick and tired of the “product” we have been presented, and do not wish to spend our hard earned money on this sub-par product. This doesn’t mean we are less of fans than anyone else. As consumers our dollars should do the talking for us. Just like if you got crappy service at a resturant or any other business, would you continue to patronize that business?? Even though you have a friend at that business, or loved it in the past?? You would try to let the management or owners know that the service has slipped to a sub par level. I think this is the point that we are trying to get across to Clark, or anyone else that will listen. WE ARE NOT HAPPY WITH THE DIRECTION THIS TEAM IS GOING. I realize as most people on here that we as individuals are not going to change anything, but as a group maybe our voices will be heard. I just long for a team that i look forward to watch on sundays. I dropped my season tickets this past year, and boy am i glad. I got an email from the chiefs ticket office this past fall and they said we could be reinstated and have our choice of where to get our seats, all but lower level side lines, including club level openings. We tried for 5 years to get lower level tickets to no avail (we had upper level seats). Now all of a sudden there are multiple openings?? That tells me that there were alot of people that didnt renew their tickets!! HMMMMM I see a pattern here. People are voicing their dollars.

So, bottom line is, how does that spoon fed crap your eating taste???

Anyone else notice that Jake and chfsfan dont comment on the same thread? Spooky……….

    44. Dante Hall? Are you serious? Now look, I think I’ve been interpreted wrong in being a big Carl Supporter. I’m not. But with Dante Hall, I was ready to give a medal to Carl for getting rid of that worthless piece of garbage and getting a 5th round draft pick.

Jerry Jones would equate to Carl Peterson. Not Clark Hunt. Jerry makes all the personnel decisions for the Cowboys.

All I’m saying is that I see similarities. And all the criticism that you are throwing at Herm and Carl…well frankly, I heard 10 times worse about Jerry and Jimmy in Dallas. And the screams were NATIONWIDE. You hear very little from the national media criticizing the rebuilding movement in Kansas City.

And you can talk all you want about being a “consumer” of the Chiefs product. Truth is this. Giving up your season tickets in a stand against Chiefs management will have very little impact if any at all. But hey, if it makes you feel better, then give them up. But again, anyone who has ever been involved in coaching at ANY level knows they better not listen to fans.

I hate losing as much as anyone on here. But again, there’s nothing I can truly do about it. I have given up my season tickets this year. But it wasn’t voluntarily, it was because I was transferred from the area.

This started out about trading Tony G. Some think it’s a bad idea. I happen to think it’s a great idea as long as the Chiefs get something decent in return. The idea that we should trade Tony to a contender just so he has a shot at a ring is bad business. Isn’t that what everyone on here is upset about anyway? Bad Business decisions?

    45. I was a fan of Jared Allen too when he was here, but was he a product of our style of defense? Almost midway through the season and he only has 13 tackles and 2 sacks in Minnesota….not all that newsworthy if you ask me. I hate more than anything to see Gonzo traded but he does deserve a shot at a championship, I wish it could be in KC but it’s not meant to be. No matter where he goes he will always be a Chief, he will retire a Chief and he will enter the Hall a Chief. Also, until Tamba is put back into his original position he’s not going to excel.

    46. I’m every sad about Tony G. but I do agree that TG deserves a chance to win a championship and for those who think that because he’s been payed well that TG sould not care about winning asuper bowl. I say your an asshole!!! Sorry but I couldn’t take it anymore.

      Comment by Steve — October 12, 2008 @ 5:03 pm

    47. Say what you want about Dante Hall. But every since he was traded we were searching for his replacement. Hopefully Savage is the man now but seeing the Chiefs trying to fill those shoes last year was a disgrace.

As far as the Jerry Jones and Queen Carl comparisons is Jerry makes good personnel decisions and when he does sign the bad players he tend to make them work out for the team. Jerry gets his people to camp on time. Jerry Jones and Queen Carla both took over GM in 1989. All Jerry Jones has done was won three Super Bowls.

Wikipedia says this about each coach.

Jerry Jones: In one of the most dramatic eras of ownership in professional sports, Jerry Jones’s stewardship of the Dallas Cowboys has brought unprecedented results and success to one of the world’s most visible sports entities.

Highlighted by Super Bowl victories following the 1992, 1993 and 1995 seasons, Jones became the first owner/GM in NFL history to guide his team to three league championships in his first seven years of ownership.

Carl Peterson: Most critics criticizes the fact that Peterson has held his current job for over 18 years, which is considerably longer than most other NFL general managers, despite the team’s lack of playoff success during his tenure, and the recent decline in the team’s fortunes. Due to his longstanding term in office as general manager, columnist Jason Whitlock has famously dubbed Peterson as “King Carl”[1] [2] in the Kansas City Star and the nickname has become a Chiefs fan favorite among the criticism of Peterson. During a broadcast of a Chiefs game, ESPN personality Tony Kornheiser questioned if Carl Peterson was similar to a Supreme Court Justice in the fact that he still maintains his job despite the Chiefs not winning a playoff game since 1993 and repeatedly failing in the NFL Draft.

      Just something to think about.

    48. As far as Jared is concerned, his presence alone is an impact. Did you see the guy playing next to him today (Kevin Williams). He had 4 sacks today and had 3 the whole season last year. Just imagine him playing next to Dorsey. Think about Deion Sanders. He very rarely had INTs at the prime of his career but he was still an impact player in the secondary because he shut down one side of the field. The most he had in one season is 7 in 93 followed by 6 in 94 and neither year he led the league.

Thats just another thought that comes to mind.

    49. Tony deserves to win a title, God Speed buddy. The problem is, we should have traded before the 2007 season for the Patriots’ #7 pick. We could have had both Dorsey and Ryan Clady and Albert! LJ hates being a Chief and collects his $19 million/season with a scowl. Someone has to pay for this chaos, I really hope Clark Hunt develops some pride and runs King Carl out on a rail.

    50. JRock,

I totally agree with you about Carl, but this blow up the team philosophy is a different direction for Carl. Whereas in the past, it was the same thing every year. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t remember the Chiefs EVER having a team with 16 rookies on it or the Chiefs ever having the turnover they had this year.

As for Dante. We should have been looking for his replacement the last two years he was here as well. The guy ran BACKWARDS everytime he got the ball.

      Comment by chfsfan — October 12, 2008 @ 6:04 pm

    51. Since the Chief are being compared to the Cowboys, then lets take a deeper look. 1989 was the Cowboys rebuilding year and last year is when the Chiefs started rebuilding. 1989 Cowboys 1-15 and last year Chief 4-12. Dallas trade Herschel Walker (their best player)for multiple draft picks and went 7-9 the following year. Chiefs trade Jared Allen (their best defensive player) and has gone down hill since that being 1-4 at the bye week. The point I’m getting at is Chiefs aren’t showing progression during rebuilding. Herm stated that “You can still be competitive while rebuilding.” I have yet to see that. So is he eating his words or is he flat out saying he can’t coach.

      Comment by JRock in Texas — October 12, 2008 @ 6:29 pm

    52. JRock,

I disagree with the assessment that this is year 2. This is the FIRST year. They blew up the team as evidenced by the turnover this year.

      Comment by chfsfan — October 12, 2008 @ 6:38 pm

    53. Why do you think this is year one? Only thing he changed was the O-Line. There is only two starting players on the O-line that were not on the team from last year and thats Adrian Jones (who Im still questioning why is the guy starting and he has experience) and Brandon Albert so that saying Rudy has experience. He’s been on the team for three years now. Okay I’ll say Mike Cox is new too. I think he started rebuilding the second draft and he announced that this year is the rebuilding year because last year was so terrible. There are two rookies starting on defense and thats Flowers and Dorsey. I know Carr is playing but he is a fill in for an injured Surtain. So you have to look at least look at the draft picks (including undrafted FA)since Herm has gotten here and realize that 8 of the starters that Herm drafted (Rudy Niswanger, Tank Tyler, Turk McBride, Tamba Hali, D-Bowe, Brodie Croyle, Bernard Pollard, and Jared Page) all have experience prior to this year.

I would kind of side with him more IF he would have started start Herb Taylor at LT, Brian Waters at LG, Rudy Niswanger at C, Brandon Albert at RG (and eventually take over at LG when BW retire), and Barry Richardson at RT. That is the Line that needs to jell because they are the future. Not Adrian Jones and Damion “Look Out” McIntosh.

    54. My point from the comment above is that this is CLEARLY not year one of rebuilding. This is year two.

you are brainwashed fucking moron, the end. Go sit with Carl and Herm at the next dinner party and chit chat about how great it is to have a team full of young players that could’nt win a $1 dollar scratch off ticket even if they spent their entire unearned salaries on em. I was really hoping for a weekend free from heartache with the chiefs being on their bye and then this shit comes up, I swear to god it is never ending with this fucking team. Just out of spite I kinda deep down inside hope Tony goes and signs with the goddamn donkeys so he can come back and stuff it up herms ass later this year. It is getting so fucking embarassing to wear my colors lately.

    56. JROCK,

Your logic makes sense. I’ve just looked at it from a different perspective. I listen to a lot of NFL Radio on Sirius radio and most people on that station refer to this being year 1 of the rebuild as well (well FULL BLOWN rebuild anyway).

To be honest, I really truly expected what I have seen so far this year after analyzing everything. I’m not surprised one bit. That’s all I’m really saying. True, I guess I’m more patient than most, and probably more optimistic. Personally, I wrote this season off before it even started. I can live with 1-15 this year. I would expect at least 8-8 next year. Another thing I’ve looked at is that Carl is going a direction he’s never gone before.

Either way, looks like Carl will be done after next year regardless.

And for the record…I don’t understand the whole Damion McIntosh thing either.

Either way…year 1 or year 2….It’s gonna be a painful one.

    57. Has anyone noticed the inability of the to develop a kicker or spot a kicker with talent. We drafted Justin Medlock in the fifth round and he was terrible but Dallas draft Nick Folk and Green Bay draft Mason Crosby in the 6th round of the same year’s draft and they are stars in the making. John Carney was with the Chiefs last year (yeah I know he’s about 50 but the kicker is one position that can play til they are 55) and he was 3-3 and we cut him. Lawrence Tynes was cut and he helped the Giants win the Super Bowl and was awarded a new contract. Did I mention that John Carney is number 2 in the league in scoring. I still dont know why the Giants are being greedy and holding on to two kickers (Carney and Tynes).

    59. Chfsfan,

Herm’s first year is his first year. This is silly to even be debating. This is like arguing about the definition of “is”.

But for arguments sake, let’s throw out his FIRST first year. Herm said a million times that 2007 was a rebuilding year. So from Herm’s mouth, this is year TWO.

Like I called it, you have NO answer for Miami & Atlanta.

Last year, Dante Hall had one return TD, and another that went 70 yards. What did Eddie Drummond have? If you add up his 2007 return yardage would it equal what Dante had on those 2 returns?

Like Dante or not, he was more productive last year than the guy Herm picked. Period.

Since you are so smart, maybe you should call Atlanta & tell them they are rebuilding wrong. All this winning they are doing now is really going to set back the team later on. God forbid if Atlanta & Miami make the playoffs, they might have to cut some players.

Apparently you don’t hate losing that much if you can casually brush off a 34-0 humiliation. You can do something about it. For starters, you can admit to being an employee of the Chiefs because they are the only ones defending Herm.

Would you trade DT if you could get “something decent in return.” Unbelievable.

      Comment by JD — October 12, 2008 @ 8:10 pm

    60. Not to add that Jason Baker is doing better than Dustin Colquitt in Net Avg (6) and inside the 20%(2). Im not discrediting Colquitt, just the Chiefs coaching staff. One stat that I cant help but mention from Colquitt that stands out to me is Punt Yards. He is definitely leading the league in that category.

    61. I know I keep posting but I’m pissed so I might as well let it all out now. In 2007 the Chiefs drafted Turk McBride to take Jared Allen’s spot on the right side because they thought Jared was being suspended for four games but it was reduce to two. My question is, why did that philosophy change this year. They should have kept Tamba Hali on the left side (where he was productive) and put Turk on the right (the spot they want him to play from the beginning). I think Tamba would have at least 2 or 3 sacks by now. This is just getting me more pissed thinking about this crap.

    62. Don’t apologize JRock. Our favorite team was unnecessarily demolished by a con artist. Everyone is pissed off about it. Except for Chfsfan. And Herm. And Carl. And Clark.

The players quit last week, they don’t believe in their coach. That’s why TG wants out. He knows Herm is a moron & the Chiefs will never win while he’s hear. Nobody believes in Herm. Except for Chfsfan. And Herm. And Carl. And Clark.

    63. Chfsfan,
I didn’t expect to see this. I expected to lose but not this bad. The one against Oakland was the turning point for me. How could we lost to a team with a rookie QB, RB, now wide receiver, tight end or O-line and a Head Coach who is being threatened to be fired by the owner from day one of training camp. I’ll tell you how. Play a team with Sperm Edwards and Queen Carla running the show. I was a Herm supporter before that game. Ask anyone on the website and they will tell you. Only game we were in was the game we won. I’m not going to count the New England game because Tom Brady got hurt. Not to add that we were only able to put up 10 against a suspect defense of New England and a whopping “8″ against the Raiders. I put this in an earlier statement. Herm said “We can rebuild and still be competitive.” Show me where we have been competitive! Or in the classic phrase from Sperm “Hellooooo! You play to win the game.”

      Comment by JRock in Texas — October 12, 2008 @ 8:54 pm

    64. When rebuilding, fans understand that the Super Bowl is a pipedream, but… we expect the team to be competitive. An NFL team shouldn’t take the field every week HOPING they score a touchdown in the game. The Chiefs players had the demeaner of a HS team getting blown-out last week in Carolina. It is embarrassing. With the economy in the tank, how do Clark & Carl expect people to spend their $$$ on going to a construction zone to watch Brodie Croyle throw interceptions? This is unacceptable.

We need a GM who understands that the forumula for winning in KC will be to develop an indetity for the franchise. A physical team which dominates the line of scrimmage on both offense and defense worked under Marty and Carl blew it all up so Vermeil and Greg Robinson could install their college scheme filled with vets. The Pats, Colts, Steelers, Eagles and Titans all have a franchise identity and each team has sustained long term success. Even when these teams have a couple of down seasons, they are not an easy win and they come back quickly by drafting guys to fit the system.

As long as King Carl and his puppet, Herm, are around we will go nowhere and continue to be a joke. BTW, I agree that Atlanta is a good example of a team which is rebuilding, so is Baltimore. These teams may have a couple of bad games but overall they are still competitive.

    67. tony, you are great and deserve a ring, herm wouldn’t give you a 3 yard pass in front of friends family fans and against a rival that you are beating, yet almost every game I watch, the game plan is a little fucking dump passes 2 yards before or after the line of scrimage to any one around, red and gold or black and silver. Show some respect to one of the FEW guys who go out there and bust their ass for a losing effort that the front office wants to blow just to get a better draft pick who will be the “future” 10 years from now when the rebuilding process will start all over again. that was bullshit.

carl, herm, thanks for running my team to the ground. you see talet and get rid of it for what, the same thing you two assclowns are…..a couple of worthless sacks of shit.

i can live with a bad season or two, but this is ridiculous. heads should roll. we as fans shouldn’t have to “get over it”. and how does tony not fit in our game plan CHFSFAN? go back to the dallas bandwagon you are just as retarded as the front office. who are these young “kids” supposed to learn from. sure in the hell isn’t herm fucking edwards. then if you do somehow get good carl will just trade you for another 20-something.

Sorry, Not on the Chiefs payroll. I wish I was. I get paid by YOUR good ole tax dollars. I’m in the military. As for YOUR team being taken over by a con artist…Is your name Clark Hunt? I didn’t think so. It’s not YOUR team. You are a fan. Nothing more. Just like me.

      Dennis,

Concerning Croyle. I, personally think Croyle is on his last chance. See what he does over the last 11 games. If he continues to fall flat on his face, I think the Brodie experiment should be over. Same if he gets hurt again. But again…If they choose to stay with him, what can I really do about it? N-O-T-H-I-N-G. Same as you!

      Chris B,

Tony does not fit the mold as a young player. He has very few remaining years.

Look, I didn’t mean to get tempers flaring here. We’re all fans of the Chiefs. You have a choice…take it or leave it.

If the Chiefs are the BIGGEST problem you have in your life, consider yourself VERY lucky. That means you have a pretty good life.

    72. I love how people jump in taking shots all over the place & then claim they didn’t mean to start anything once they get called out on their ridiculous crap.

Chfsfan, where do I claim ownership? I clearly say “Our FAVORITE team”. Do we now need to argue about the definition of “favorite”?

Plus, when have I ever claimed to be anything more than a fan? I haven’t. Keep grasping at straws in other rooms.

Way to avoid my argument by nitpicking something little, except in this case, you couldn’t even get that right. Good job!

Still waiting for your witty commentary on the Falcons & Dolphins. While you are busy arguing the definition of what “first” means, Miami & Atlanta are just winning games.

Let’s see, you can’t argue about Dante Hall, you can’t argue about Herm’s first year, you can’t argue about rebuilding, you can’t argue about the pathetic Carolina game, and you can’t argue about Miami & Atlanta. Oh, but you can manufacture a false claim about me talking like I own the team. You sure showed me. Curses!

Dennis – you are so picky!!!

    73. I have been a Chiefs fan for a long time, and the Herm Edwards era is the worst ever, the players don’t have attitude, the coach thinks that 21 points it’s a lot of points and the GM wants to trade one of the best players in franchise history (maybe the best). The problem is that this team doesn’t have any personality and is a shame that CH or somebody didn’t do anything on bye week. We need somebody that hates losing (note like our current head coach).

If Tony G leaves and Herm stays it would be one of the darkest chapters of the Chiefs history. Tony knows better, hes been around since 1997, he is a proven winner and KC need these kind of people.

I think the solution is proven winners like Bill Cowher or Brian Billick. I think Marty would be a good GM.

I think that it would be better to trade Herm before deadline.

PD. Herm is a nice guy but a really really bad coach, he needs to go!!!

It’s hard to say this but GO CHIEFS and i really hope Gonzalez stays, he is a chiefs legend and he deserves better, he wants to leave as a chief but not as a Hermboy!!!

    74. It took me while but here is something to think about. Take a look at the 1992 Chiefs roster. 10 rookies, 10 one year players, and 16 players with 2-4 years of experience. Now the magic number is 20. 20 players with 5 years or more of experience and they went 10-6. Just something to look at.

who will teach cottham to be the next Tony G. who says he is the guy is in the first place? and basically you have to be the next tony g…to be the man, you have to beat the man, right? truthfully look at the draft busts we have had in the past. with no expirience who is teaching these picks the NFL speed? 2nd year players? More chances for these picks to fail. Unless we went out and got a new talent scout, that is along the lines of genuis. yeah he has a few years left, why not let him lead and teach by example, thats all I’m saying. Maybe he’s not 20 but he is the leader the troops look up to. right now it just looks like herm is trying out for his next coaching job…in college

Im not on the payroll so no its not “my team” like I stated, but for thirty years it has been my team. I’ve paid for season tickets the whole herm era. In vermeils days there was a waiting list, now you can barely give them away. and as for taking it or leaving it, it feels like I’m bending over and taking it. I know its not possible, but season ticket holders, hell even the one timers who go to see their favorite team, in maybe a once in a lifetime opportunity, should be on the board of directors and their voices should be heard.

clark carl and herm don’t read any of this stuff its just a place for all of us to celabrate or bitch about our team and its great. I don’t wish bad on any of the players young or old, they play on the greatest team on earth, but with herm they are not getting what they, or we paid for.
and I hope its over soon…my seats are empty until it is. I’m still paying for the tickets, i’d just rather forget the 6 hour drive and $200 in gas. and avoid seeing another raider fan sing and dance in arrowhead, like T.O. spiking the ball on the star at midfield.

    80. OK. Here it is the chiefs are doing the right thing and Carl Petersen is doing the right thing.

Herman Edwards is not the coach we are looking for.

Drafting good young players is the right direction. Look at any Super Bowl winning team, they all had success in the draft, the colts one of the best teams over the last 12 years has the highest percentage of players they drafted on their team than any other team in the league.

The chiefs are missing three things to make this team a contender.

      1. A new head coach who isn’t extremely conservative.

      2. A Starting Quarterback who won’t get hurt half the year and is actually good and has the qualities a quarterback should have.

      3. Just another offensive lineman or two.

That’s it. You get those few things and all of the sudden your a contender. It’s too bad the chiefs weren’t going to be the worst team next year because they will take Matt Stafford this season with the number one pick as opposed to Sam Bradford next season.

I feel like carl can do it. GO CHIEFS!

    82. I’m so sick and tired of hearing all this crap about Trading Larry Johnson. I can’t believe that you’ll forget about all the work he did 2 years ago for us and how highly we’ve spoken about him in the past. The only people who leave comments on here anymore are 40 year old men who like to complain about the Chiefs losing their touch and reliving the glory days (especially when they’ve probably never even touched a football in their lives) of Chiefs football. We’re going through an hard time right now and the last thing we need to do is start trading all of our good players to other teams. That’s what the Royals always do. Just because they’re our next door neighbors doesn’t mean we have to follow suit. I realize this is the hardest season we’ve endured so far, 75% of our starters are rookies, and it seems like we can’t win a game to save our lives but the last thing we should do is start giving up on them. All we need is some fresh ideas and FOR GOD’S SAKE SOME BLOCKING!!!! It’s hard to run through brick walls and it’s nearly impossible to throw when your quarterback is always taking hits. It’s really for the most place not our players, it’s our coaching and play calling staff and Carl Peterson just needs to retire. Mainly what I’m trying to get at is, shut up and support the team. Don’t make pretend that you know what’s best for the players, they can make those choices on their own. At least our players aren’t setting up illegal dog fights or beating up their own body guards.

    85. Amy- Running backs are a dime a dozen, Trade Larry get some offense players, get rid of Herm teh destroyer. I played football and stil I say trade LJ. Why? Like I stated in the beginning Running backs are a dime a dozen. I know that you do not want to hear this but – Look what Denver has done with RB’s THEY GOT A OFFENSIVE LINE THAT CAN PLAY AS A TEAM. Then the running backs whoever they may be can run like they should. Have a terrible line, even the top running backs would not be able to get 50 yards. WE NEED AN OFFENSE THAT CAN PLAY AS A TEAM. WE NEED A DIFFERENT QUARTERBACK TO LEAD THE TEAM, WE NEED TO GET CARL AND HERM WALKING PAPERS. Being a friend does not constitute as wins. The hiring of Herm was Carls ultimate downfall.

Look at all the games that we have had, up and down down down and up. No cohession with the team. The coaching staff bites, the players are tooooooooo young. This is not college this is the NFL. Get some mentors in there to help teach. This crap of evaluating players during the season bites.

Warpath.com would you please set up a fire Herm and Carl petition?

Or have a area setup where we can vent about this and leave the discussions about the topics with the topics? It seems we vear off since we have no other places to vent.

i didnt know about the 14 million dollars so thanks for that bit of info but seriously in 2009 the chiefs will need to trade Larry Johnson and ill give you some reasons why
      1. he’s gonna turn 29 a month and the wear and tear is gonna get to him(such as the 418 carry season) and he will get injured more often like most running backs do.

      2. The Chiefs have the 24 year old Kolby Smith (who did very well last year in LJ’s absence) and also the 22 year old rookie Jamaal Charles who is very explosive. we have good running backs out the ass so why keep your older bitchy expensive one?

      3. LJ BITCHES A LOT okay i understand his line sucks pretty damn bad but when a player bitches as much as he does then that puts a very negative output towards your line and creates negativity on your team which is NOT GOOD to your TEAMS health.

you cant defend larry in saying that he doesnt have a shitty additude he has since he was young and dick vermeil said he didnt want to “change his diapers” cuz he wasnt gonna put up with larry’s shit. LARRY IS THE BEST GUY TO HAVE ON YOUR TYEAM WHEN THINGS ARE GOING GOOD BUT HE’S THE WORST GUY WHEN THINGS ARE BAD TRADE HIM 2009

    89. If Tony asked for the trade, then get him the h out. If he were a real Chief, he would not have asked for a trade. Put Him and LJ on the next bus out of KC and let the ones play that want to play. Biggest problem now is no QB and as far as I’m concerned bring back Marty.

      Rock ON!!!

    90. Kolby and Charles would do fine as a tandem.

    91. Dante Hall was the best return man that I have ever seen. The timing of his returns were awesome. None better than the colt playoff game when our D did not make the colts punt once. We went down 14 and then Dante broke 1 and brought us back within 7. He is starting to play well in St. Louis again too.

THIS IS A COMPLETE AND TOTAL FUCKING FAILURE AND COLLAPSE ON EVERY IMAGINEABLE LEVEL AND SPERM EDWARDS,, QUEEN CARL,,CLARK CUNT,,,AND SPAM GAILEY ARE THE REASONS WHY!!!THE 4 OF THEM CAN FUCK OFF,,,AS THEY ARE WHY EVEN OUR VERY BEST AND FAVORITE PLAYERS ARE WANTING TO RUN FOR THE HILLS AS FAR AWAY FROM THE CHIEFS AS POSSIBLE,,,AND DON’T BLAME THEM,,,TONY G.,,IT HAS BEEN FUN TO WATCH YOU PLAY AND I WISH YOU THE VERY BEST AND MAYBE EVEN A CHAMPIONSHIP IF YOU CAN,,,JUST PLEASE COME BACK TO RETIRE A CHIEF AND REMEMBER US FANS WHO HAVE BEEN THERE FOR YOU,,WE LOVE YOU,,,BUT FOR QUEEN CARL,,SPERM EDWARDS,,SPAM GAILEY,,AND CLARK CUNT,,,,FUCK OFF!!

YOU NEED TO PULL YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASS,,,,TONY G HAS BEEN THE PERFECT EXAMPLE OF A LOYAL PLAYER AND CHIEF,,,HE HAS WAITED AND SPENT HIS ENTIRE CAREER FIGHTING FOR THE CHIEFS AND THIER FANS THROUGH ONE BULLSHIT GM AND COACHING BLUNDERS AFTER ANOTHER.! IT’S JUST THAT AS LONG AS WE’VE HAD QUEEN CARL AT THE HELM,,,HE HAS BEEN A CHIEF KILLER,,,MAYBE YOU SHOULD TAKE THE NEXT BUS OUT OF TOWN WITH THAT WHINING BABY,,LJ!!!

      Comment by VEGAS CHIEF — October 13, 2008 @ 5:26 pm

    94. Unless you’re getting a QUARTERBACK (and I would say a good quarterback) trading anybody is useless. LJ may bitch a lot, but he’s getting a lot of money to PLAY A GAME and trading TG would do just as little. They are both are GETTING PAID VERY WELL… The real issue is Herm Edwards, you could have Tom Brady as out quarterback and we’d still have a hard time hitting 21 points (which is a lot of points… lol!). It’s the coaching that’s the main issue.

      Comment by Jeff — October 13, 2008 @ 5:57 pm

    95. First I belive that Tony G. is a product of his enviroment. He became a Hall of famer, because the KC Chiefs NEVER have two good recivers. EVER. I am not taking away from his performance at all, but when you have a team that has been more than willing to build an ofensive playbook around you; see play action pass every other play, he should cut the fans some slack. Sometimes I wonder if these so called Roll-models forgot what its like to have a regular joe job. I don’t care how many rings I didn’t have, I would not act so unprofessional in the middle of the season. How many great players don’t have rings? He is going about this all wrong. It is very disapointing to see one of my football idols act this way…I hope they trade him to the raiders.

    96. chfsfan,
I can’t hold back anymore you are the most pompus-ass piece of shit I have ever seen post on this website. You represent everything that is wrong with this team and with this country, you believe blindly in the people that are in charge because you for some reason think that they have earned their right to be there. Clark Hunt has no business running an NFL franchise the only reason he is, is because his daddy left it to him. My dad is a millionaire and you know what? being his son in absolutly no way qualifies me for filling in his shoes, because that was his doing and not mine, I’m an auto mechanic, so I’ll stick to what I do best. As for all your bullshit remarks like if you think you could do a better job go buy the team………and if you could do a better job coaching then why did’nt they hire you? I have only one thing to say. I wasn’t hired to coach this team and I’m also not the owner of this team but you know what I am? I’M NOT FUCKING BLIND AND I’M NOT FUCKING RETARDED TO NOT BE ABLE TO SEE THAT THIS TEAM IS GOING NOWHERE BUT DOWN. Enjoy drinking your kool-aide, hopefully the mass-suicide of you and all your dumb-ass Herm supporters will come during halftime of the Titans game. Rot in Hell you know it all self-righteous piece of shit………….goddamn I hat people like you.

    98. Losing Tony would be an unbelievable loss to not only our team, but to the KC community. I completely understand his frustration and how pressed he must feel to make something happen to give himself a chance at a ring. That being said, allowing that to happen would be another in a long line of idiot decisions by the front office. The only thing acceptable in my opinion is a first round pick, since CP has proven that he cannot draft well. As a team, we probably have more busts than any other team in the league.

As far as the LJ issue goes, I completely agree that he is a selfish, arrogant player who is only concerned for himself and his numbers. Yes, the cap hit would be hard to absorb, BUT, he is a cancer, plain and simple. His running style has completely changed from his more productive years. True the line was more solid, but if you think you are a top tier back than you better run like one, especially if you are 230 pounds and can run over people. Of our 5 games, LJ ran hard for 2, danced around the other 3. He, like many here would like to blame the line, but pay attention to his style and decision making. He is not hitting holes at speed and not reading the blocks accurately. If you have ever played football, you know what I am talking about. His heart isn’t in it.

One more thing. I respect everyone’s opinion on this board, even if I think it is not intelligent. Trying to argue your point is exactly what these boards are for, however, the negativity towards each other is a little over the top. I do not believe chfsfan’s opinion, but I don’t believe he should rot in hell because of them. He did offer up insight into his mindset when he discussed being a Cowboy fan. I never really understood changing affiliations; I was born a Chiefs fan. I remember crying as a youngster in the days of Bill Kenney, Todd Blackledge, Stephon Paige, Albert Lewis, Joe Delaney; watching them lose heartbreakers. Those of us who are lifelong fans have much more invested, believe it or not. I respect the converts for their fanhood, but understand, we bleed with the team, especially now. That is the reason for so much emotion right now.

When you talk about our organization, and take a stance that is not popular, prepare to feel the wrath of the lifelong fan.

In closing, I would like to address all of you. As much as it pains me to say this, it will not get better until the offseason. Clark will not make a move in the middle of the season, and the Herm experiment will likely continue as he searches for anything that might work to save his job. Sure does bring more appreciation to Marty and his passion filled speeches, doesn’t it.

    101. TRAVIS
YOU ARE A SMART MAN i completely agree with eveerything you say especially about LJ i played running back in highschool so i really pay attention to running backs and i noticed too how his running style is more held back and not as hard and mean

      Comment by MikeH — October 13, 2008 @ 10:51 pm

    102. For all those that say firing a coach in mid-season won’t do anything, I imagine there are a lot of Rams fans who would disagree.

Could it be that a vocal fan reaction, and a vocal player reaction led the Rams to make a move? Gee, seems like the fans can do S-O-M-E-T-H-I-N-G after all.

Unfortunately when a lifelong HoF Chief voices his opinion, management sides with a loser coach & TG has to ask for a trade.

Saying TG is unprofessional is ridiculous. Any one of Herm “It’s All DV’s Fault” Edwards 40+ press conferences is 100 times more unprofessional than anything TG has done or said this week.

Where’s your loyalty to TG, a true Chief? You’d rather give to a man who has turned the Chiefs into a 1-13 joke?

As for TG being a product of his environment, uh, aren’t we all a product of our environment? Would Jerry Rice, Randy Moss or Terrel Owens put up HoF receiving numbers under Herm “The Team Comes First” Edwards? Only way they would catch a pass is if they switched to running back.

Of course the Chiefs built their offense around TG, who wouldn’t? Oh yah, Herm “I Know What I’m Doing” Edwards.

I DON’T HAVE ANYTHING AGAINST THE HUNT FAMILY,,,,,IN FACT,,,,,I LOVE THE HUNT FAMNILY AND EVERYTHING LAMAR HUNT DID FOR THE NFL,,,,,HOWEVER,,,,CLARK NEEDS TO SEE WHATEVER EVERYONE ELSE IN AMERICA SEE’S AND ALSO BEING AROUND THE GAME AND THE CHIEFS AS LONG AS HE HAS,,,,THIS BULLSHIT WE CALL A “GM AND COACHING STAFF” AND GROW BALLS AND SAY,,,,,MY DAD WOULD NEVER TOLLARATE THIS KIND OF “”NON-RESULTS”" IN MY ORGANASATION,,,AND MAKE A MAJOR CHANGE NOW,,,,”"”DEMAND CHANGE NOW”"”,,,ANYONE CAN SEE THAT WE DO NOT QUALIFY AS A SUB-PAR JR. HIGH SCHOOL TEAM AS WE ARE NOW,,,,I SEE POP-WARNER COACHES CALLING BETTER GAMES WEEK IN AND WEEK OUT,,,HE NEEDS TO STEP UP AND PROVE HIS OWN WORTH NOW AS WELL AND CHANGE THINGS TO A “”"NFL”"”LEVEL,,,GROWING UP INTO A NFL FAMILY,,,,HE SHOULD ALREADY KNOW,,,PERIOD!!

    104. JD

Don’t misunderstand my post, I want Herm and Carl gone… yesterday. My point is that Clark is probably not going to make the change during the season. I am unsure how involved he was prior to this and quite sure he wasn’t ready to handle this type of failure so soon. That is what I meant by things not getting better until the offseason.

      Comment by Travis — October 13, 2008 @ 11:32 pm

    105. I know this may sound wrong coming from a Chiefs fan. But Carl, please trade Tony G. He IS our best player, BUT he deserves better. I want him to go out with at least a shot at a championship. And when he decides to retire he can come back and retire in KC.

    106. ANOTHER THING,,,,,
IF WE AS FANS ARE THIS PISSED OF SEEING AND WATCHING THE SAME OLD BULLSHIT COACHING AND PLAY CALLING EVERY WEEK,,,,WOULD’NT YOU THINK THAT GROWING UP THROUGH YOUR WHOLE LIFE IN THE NFL,,,,THAT YOU OF ANYONE,,,,WOULD DEMAND SOMETHING BETTER RIGHT AWAY,,,,COME ON!!BE REAL!!

    108. See ya TONY G, but hey there is a whole lot of games to watch instead of the chiefs in the NFL. maybe they should make an exception and give the chiefs two or three bye weeks so we dont have to watch the sh*ty coaching and the lack of effort every week from these losers

i really hope this off season we actually see some changes in the front office. And not the crappy leftover signings by carl and seeing herm make the team worse with his weak a** coaching, We need a motivater for these young guys, and herm obviously cant do that.

C’mon clark hunt grow a pair and can these 2 sh*t d*cks before they ruin a once great franchise, and loose one of the great fanbases in proffesional sports

    109. OK, AS I SEE IT, TONY DESERVES A CHAMPIONSHIP AND WANTS TO BE TRADED. AFTER THE WAY THE BROWNS LOOKED LAST NIGHT, I SAY WE TRADE GONZO TO THE BROWNS FOR BRADY QUINN. WE NEED A Q.B. 110. roncutler06,

This was posted on chiefs warpath on Oct. 11th so what r u complaining about. Some people have lives besides setting here on this web site all day posting chiefs news. This web site was started out for fun and continued to grow as it was requested. Everyone who helps with this web site are not paid, have other jobs and a family. U try to get everything posted on time consistently with all the updates when doing all of this. Other web sites r paid and it is their job not just for fun.

I agree with KC Raider Hater about trading Tony to the Browns for Brady Quinn the only thing is Tony wants to play for a contender and r the Browns really a contender this year.

    113. Tony is the face(positive) of our franchise…..
He is the ONLY positive thing this team has had in the last couple of years…..
Im going to be a really torn chiefs fan to see him go.He is my favorite player in the LEAUGUE.
Tony DOES deserve a shot at a ring and thats why i FULLY understand him in wanting to go.
I sure hope he gets his ring no matter where it is.
TONY has given our chiefs his 100% all the time even when we keep losing.
Sorry to say but we all can see, there is NO light at the end of our tunnel for a while…..
GOOD LUCK TONY…you deserve the best!!!!!
