Quinn Gray??? What?!?! Another joke! Carl Peterson sucks cock! Thats all we need…another shitty QB. Have you guys read his stats??? Crap!
Comment by Nick — October 21, 2008 @ 6:07 pm
Crap stats? I don’t agree. Although his completion percentage is relatively low (56.1%), he has a 12-5 career TD-Int ratio and an 88.5 QB rating.
But this all doesn’t really matter b/c the sample size is pretty small (4 starts and some other sporadic time, i think).
In all, i’m pretty happy with the pick of Gray, considering the other options. However, being dumped by Houston isn’t a good sign…
Comment by VLTC — October 21, 2008 @ 6:17 pm
If everyone paid attention you would know he got cut by INDY. Not Houston. And I believe this is a solid pickup. From what I have seen he can take a hit at least.
Comment by JCJ — October 21, 2008 @ 6:57 pm
Carl Peterson doesn’t pick anyone who will cost him an arm and a leg, all he wants is some one to fill a spot, winning be damned! I’m sick of this guy. Twenty years is long enough for this idiot to prove he can put together a team that can win the Super Bowl. He hasn’t done it in twenty and he won’t in the next twenty!
Comment by Curtis — October 21, 2008 @ 7:00 pm
I sure hope he can take a hit. He will definately be taking a few!
Comment by Nick — October 21, 2008 @ 8:10 pm
why dont we find casy printers..he can move well and somewhat knows the offence…anyone know where he is?
Comment by kevin — October 21, 2008 @ 8:15 pm
Probably at the local grocery store stocking shelves….he sucks! Gray might be a good alternative at this point. Huard, Croyle, Thigpen, and Printers couldn’t even make a practice squad in this league.
Comment by Steve — October 21, 2008 @ 9:43 pm
Carl needs to go, Herm needs to go, till then who cares who the QB is…….. chiefs/chargers tickets two side by side $150 and gettin cheeper 918-288-7270 Vince
Comment by vince — October 21, 2008 @ 10:05 pm
Just read Clark Hunt’s support of rebuilding effort, this is another moron, nothing at all wrong with rebulding as long as you make progress, this team is going backwards they don’t want to play for these idiots, and how could anyone blame them.
Comment by vince — October 21, 2008 @ 10:25 pm
JCJ,
Supposedly he WAS cut by Houston, before Indy picked him up and released him this training camp. But I don’t claim to have personal knowledge on the subject…
Comment by VLTC — October 21, 2008 @ 10:27 pm
I think that guy with the paper bag over his head with all the Chiefs stickers on it that are crossed out needs to be punched in the head and knocked out. Real Chiefs supporters are bummed out, but wouldn’t be freakin’ stupid and do something like that, and I think this website (which I like for the most part) is stupid for posting it as their main photo for the week.
(for the guy that has a bag over his head)
If you are so ashamed of your team to the point that you wear a paper sack over your fool head, THEN DON’T GO TO THE GAMES!!!
Comment by Chief Tom — October 21, 2008 @ 11:58 pm
Chief Tom, i totally agree….. bad pic to choose warpath.
Comment by NKChiefs — October 22, 2008 @ 1:57 am
To Whom It May Concern,
Jared Allen now has 5 sacks and the entire Chiefs defense has 3. The guy lining up next to Jared Allen (Kevin Williams) has 6 sacks and he had 4 the entire season last year. I know we have Brandon Albert and Jamal Charles from the Jared Allen trade. I cant help but ask these six pack of questions “How much of an impact is Brandon Albert if he and Brian Waters are the only ones blocking? How much of an impact is Brandon Albert if we don’t have a QB to get the ball to the receivers? How much of an impact is Brandon Albert if the LJ is not running hard? How much of an impact is Brandon Albert is if the play calling is terrible? Did we already have a LT in Herb Taylor if he was given the chance to grow at that position? Why did we spend all that money on Damion McIntosh if he is not starting? Why is Herb Taylor playing RT instead of LT and Brandon Albert is playing LT instead of RG? Who the heck is Adrian Jones? . Those are my six pack of questions.
Comment by J-Rock in Texas — October 22, 2008 @ 4:05 am
I think that Quinn would be a nice pickup. some players seem to do better when they go to another team. I hope this one works out for us. It can’t get any worse.
Comment by Bill Robben — October 22, 2008 @ 7:11 am
Chief Tom and NKChiefs,
Perhaps the tickets are already paid for and the guy doesn’t want them to go to waste so he is going to the games. If he wants to show his displeasure with the direction of the Chiefs, let him wear a bag over his head.
I showed my displeasure by canceling my season tickets for the year and have let ticket reps who have contacted me that I won’t renew until Herm and Carl are gone. I’m still a fan, but I won’t stand by and accept this crap.

I think the paper bag picture is hilarious. A little extreme, but hilarious. The guy is trying to send a message about his displeasure regarding how the team is being run… and he succeeded.
Comment by VLTC — October 22, 2008 @ 10:06 am
how is it hilarious? That paper bag thing has been done for years by fans for crappy teams like the Lions, Bengals, etc. It’s nothing new.

Kc Rush
do what everybody else does and sell your tickets to somebody else.
Comment by Chief Tom — October 22, 2008 @ 12:12 pm
Yes, but it’s the best bag i’ve seen.
I do admit that it emphasizes how low this team has gotten, but it’s the truth. If coaches can call out players for underperforming, someone has to call out the coaches when they do the same. Players aren’t allowed to, the KC media is afraid to, the owner is too PC (not that we want an Al Davis), so that leaves us, the fans. And it’s entirely appropriate for us to voice our opinions, since we are the consumer and the fuel that makes the league run and even exist.
Comment by VLTC — October 22, 2008 @ 12:34 pm
Sorry Tom, but no one is buying. I couldn’t even give my extra ticket away for the last couple of games last year.
Comment by kc rush — October 22, 2008 @ 1:52 pm
All I can say is thank God that SI put the Chefs at 32. Hell I think there are at least 5 college football teams that would CRUSH the Chefs. They truly suck in every way possible… Fire Herm and Carl immediately!
Comment by Jeff — October 22, 2008 @ 3:37 pm
Why fire? They told you they wouldnt be any good. They told you they were rebuilding….from scratch. How many rookies are they starting? Its hard enough without people bitching..constantly (its all I hear from KC fans, and I’m sure they were hoping you wouldnt be so “fair weather”). Give em a chance, show some support. Boohoo, you cant brag to your friends this year. Suck it up! Shut it!
Comment by Hermsgotballs — October 22, 2008 @ 4:38 pm
Chief Tom,
No one said bag wearing is new. Just because it’s an old idea does not nullify it. I think it’s hilarious too.
Hermsgotballs,
Just because Herm said they wouldn’t be good doesn’t make it acceptable. If your dentist tells you he’s going to punch you in the balls before he fixes your teeth, does that make it ok?
We have given Herm a chance, 39 to be exact. Herm is now 1-14 in his last 15 games. That is grounds for firing, regardless of what his “plan” is.
Why don’t you concern yourself with the the Chiefs suckitude instead of justifyably upset fans.
If we were fair weather, we wouldn’t even be hear arguing about it.
Comment by Alex — October 22, 2008 @ 4:50 pm
Your analogy is lame to say the least. Your dentist told you he could fix your teeth, but it would cost your 10k. You say ok, then bitch, piss and moan when you get the bill… He should slap you. And most of you dont argue, just complain.

Second year of rebuilding and the teams still sucks. There should have been some progress but I see zero. If anything the team is going down big time. We have four rookies starting. NOT 22. Dophins won 1 game last year and with Parcells driving the ship, they are alreadys showing progress. The Raiders has all kinds of problems from the Owner to the Head Coach down to the RBs getting injured to NO Wide Outs to pass to and they still look better than the Chiefs. Look at the Falcons. They are rebuilding and got rid of two good defensive (Demorio Williams and DeAngelo Hall) and they are kicking but. How is it that we look so terrible?
Comment by J-Rock in Texas — October 22, 2008 @ 5:03 pm
Youth and inexperience imho is a big reason. We are the youngest team in the league (rebuilding to-boot) That and we cant keep our qb healthy (partly due to blocking). If we dont draft a qb and strenghten our o-line this off season, we’ll be bad next year too. I’m waiting another year to see. You cant draft it all in one or two years. They had a great draft this last year.

They had a great draft but I havent seen any improvement. That comes down to either coaching or asking yourself “How good was our draft picks the past few years?”
Comment by J-Rock in Texas — October 22, 2008 @ 6:01 pm
Hermsgotballs,
That’s pretty funny. I’m going to email my colleagues now and tell them I’m going to suck at my job the rest of the year. That makes everything ok as long as I tell them before hand, whohooo! Maybe I should even get a raise for having the foresight to see my suckiness coming ahead of time.
Being patient with a rebuild is one thing. Sucking at it is another.
Comment by VLTC — October 22, 2008 @ 6:01 pm
Hermsgotballs,
Herm said we are going to suck this year. He also said you can win and be competitive. He also said “Hellooooooo, You play to win the game.” I’m pretty sure all the running backs we’ll play this year has circled the date on their calender and put 200+ on it. The run defense isnt any better than last year and the only reason the pass defense is good is because teams dont have to pass on us. They are using Herms philosophy. Run the ball and eat up the clock.
Comment by J-Rock in Texas — October 22, 2008 @ 6:19 pm
I meant to say rebuild and be competitive.
Comment by J-Rock in Texas — October 22, 2008 @ 6:20 pm
Hermsgotballs,
No, my analogy is pretty good. We’re expecting Herm to fix our teeth (team), and instead, he has punched us in the balls. Now our teeth are still not fixed, and we still had to pay the bill.
People like you, Jake, & Chfsfan, are all about let’s be patient, yet you have no comments on Atlanta & Miami. Both teams were worse than the Chiefs last year, and both teams are better than the Chiefs now.
Please explain why they have passed us by, and we need to be patient.
Since you can’t, I will. Both teams have new coaches. Herm has shown nothing that proves our patience with him will pay off.
Comment by Alex — October 22, 2008 @ 8:00 pm
Herm also said “you play to win the game”..I had to get that off my chest
Comment by Travis — October 22, 2008 @ 9:30 pm
J-Rock, My man, you ask some good questions, but, let me follow it up with some questions back of you? Who do you think was going to get the sacks next to Jared Allen, if he even stayed in Kansas City? Tank Tyler, Turk McBride, please! I realized CP made a complete jackass out of himself and made it impossible for Allen to want to come back to the team, but, just supposing he had stayed, what then?
Yes, I wanted LJ traded, but, the team had just resigned him and he was injuried and now it was too late, now you still have the 18th or was it the 19th pick in the draft I can not remember, but, you sure don’t have both!
You and I both know that defenses win championships not offenses, that is always way the LJ’s of the world should go first, which is why I was so pissed when he was resigned in the first place! It is going to be a long time before the team gets better, maybe I am wrong, I think that Oakland is a little bit ahead of us in the rebuilding phase, but, I think that Denver is on their way down, and a little bit more slowly behind them is San Diego, but Norv Turner never scared me as a head coach at all.
Comment by Shrinking Fan Base — October 23, 2008 @ 12:10 am
I think Jared Allen would have gotten the sacks if he would have stayed. He have 5 now which is 2 more than the entire Chiefs defense. That is besides the point. Think about all the 3rd and long pass completion that were made because of lack of pass rush. A QB pressure would make them hurry a throw sometimes a cause a QB to throw the ball before a play develop. The Chiefs lack in that category. Who’s to say that Tamba Hali wouldnt have any sacks coming from the left side of the line if Jared is on the right. Who’s to say Dorsey wouldnt have a bigger impact on the game. The point I’m getting at is we let go a good player. Jared Allen is leading the league in QB pressures. I would take that any day over an entire team with a grand total of 3 sacks in six games. An avg of .5 sacks per game. Thnik about it.

Comment by Alex — October 23, 2008 @ 1:26 pm
Look at St Louis did. They fired their head coach and is on a two game winning streak beating Washington and Dallas. Now those guys are looking down on us.
Comment by J-Rock in TX — October 23, 2008 @ 2:51 pm
why dont these power rankings surprise me. Is it because this team now has no offense or defense? Watch one game and you cant’t help but see why they are ranked as they are! By halftime they are out of the game, give up 300 yards rushing, play 3 and out on offense (until the end of the 4th quarter) and usually dont get their first, first down until halfway through the 3rd quarter. Gee, no they don’t surprise me! As for Tamba Hali, this is one I’m watching close this year. They said when they traded Jared Allen to the Vikes that he would have to step up and take his place. Well, I believe the whole reason he ever got any sacks period is because Jared was allways double teamed on the other side of the line. So far this year that theory is playing out, our defensive line has no sacks in six games. It’s no wonder we are 1-5. And I thought these guys were so good at the draft!
Comment by Curtis — October 23, 2008 @ 7:02 pm
I sure hope we get Matthew Stafford from Georgia.
