[Kansas City.com] The Chiefs signed quarterback Quinn Gray and he was scheduled to be at practice with the Chiefs today.
Gray formerly played with Jacksonville where he started four games for the Jaguars in 2007. He was one of two quarterbacks to workout for the Chiefs on Tuesday. Bruce Gradkowski was the other.

Decent pick up for what was out there. what do you expect? peyton manning? i rather see gray than gradkowski. gray will do ok, but i expect a better qb be drafted. who knows though, stranger things have happened
Comment by Stu — October 22, 2008 @ 10:32 am
Quinn Gray?!? This is the best they can do? Gradkowski would have been better. He has more upside, and looked nice in preseason for the Rams. He also has more experience than Gray, having started 11 games in Tampa.
Was there a real effort to sign Culpepper? Or did the Chiefs just go for a warm, inexpensive body?
Comment by chiefs fan in denial — October 22, 2008 @ 10:36 am
Gray is good on his feet! We need that with how the new “O.J” is acting up.
Comment by Chuck — October 22, 2008 @ 10:43 am
Unreal. Mr. Hunt, please fire yourself, King Carl and Herm.
Comment by CCason — October 22, 2008 @ 11:01 am
Nice move if he can pick our simplistic offense in time he should play this weekend. Thigpen sucks balls and we should not stop the signing there. I would like to see Gradkowski or Culpepper signed as well. Might as well have open auditions the rest of the year. Once these guy’s get in shape and learn the playbook I don’t want to see Thigpen or Huard under center unless it’s in another uniform as far as I’m concerned. Vote Schottenheimer/Cowher ’08
Comment by Nathan — October 22, 2008 @ 11:06 am
does anybody really think herm will get fired this year? anybody with a few brain cells knew the chiefs were gonna suck this year. you would think 4-12 and 9 losses in a row would be considered rock bottom and hunt would want to see at least a little improvement this year. But this is the worst team in the league, the bengals would probably blow them out. I really didnt feel like herm should be fired at the beginning of the season, but now its obvious this team is falling apart and doesnt believe in whats herm preaching. he needs to go. anybody think cowher would take the job if offered to him? he was the dc at one point here….
Comment by ChiefsfaninAZ — October 22, 2008 @ 11:19 am
Quinn Gray will be better than Huard we’ll see how quickly Gray picks up on the playbook but he’s not a very good passer but at least he can run unlike Huard which with our line Gray will be running for his life
Comment by mike41 — October 22, 2008 @ 11:34 am
Excpect more of the same. When you inheiret something like a pro team instead of working hard and building it like Lamar Hunt did you are lost just like clark. Look at the 49rs same thing.
Comment by Habanero — October 22, 2008 @ 12:18 pm
Gray will be standing on the sideline this weekend holding a clipboard and looking dumb. Thigpen will be under center getting picked off and tasting the grass at the Meadowlands. I don’t see this guy being the answer either. Herm has probably been on the phone all week with Brett Favre telling him how to pick apart our defense. Being a Chiefs fan is exhausting!
Comment by Nick — October 22, 2008 @ 12:23 pm
We definitely need to replace Damion McInttosh. He constantly lets dudes go by to get to our QB. I have named nim “The Matador”
Quinn Gray……best of what was out there. And for the dude that was wondering why we didn’t take Culpepper or Gradkowski. They all three had workouts with the Chiefs and they aren’t going to pick the worst guy, obviously Gray performed the best out of the 3. PAY ATTENTION TO THE ARTICLES DUDE!!!
ChiefsfaninAZ
Your comment has absolutely nothing to do with the signing of Quinn Gray.
You’re looking for the “Obsessed With the Firing of Herm Edwards” article. That article is at http://www.clownpenis.shit
Comment by Chief Tom — October 22, 2008 @ 12:24 pm
The quartback is probaly just another assclown of a quartback Herm is acustom to picking. Oh well, whatever it takes to get us through this year so that we can sign Michael Vick.

“Ole!”

Well, I still say believe and with strong fan support, wins will be sooner than later.
Rock ON!!!
Comment by RPitts — October 22, 2008 @ 2:05 pm
Well….Gray is a hell of a lot better than the scrubs we have now.
Comment by Steve — October 22, 2008 @ 2:35 pm
Oh…and where did the chiefshuddle people relocate?
Comment by Steve — October 22, 2008 @ 2:35 pm
I remember Gray was ok in jacksonville. He is tough and can take a hit. At least we may now have a guy that can stay healthy. Hopefully he does not throw too many ducks up!
Comment by Chief Brad — October 22, 2008 @ 2:44 pm
question is does he have 3.5 40 speed? Because with our O-Line we will need him to have that?
Comment by kcchiefs19692003 — October 22, 2008 @ 2:48 pm
“Edwards also named QB Tyler Thigpen the starter this week, and announced that Brodie Croyle and Damon Huard have both been placed on the injured-reserve list.” from nfl.com
Comment by Jones — October 22, 2008 @ 2:51 pm
WE’RE NOT GOING TO SIGN FREAKING MICHAEL VICK!!! GET OVER IT ROCKY!!
Dude had quick feet, but couldn’t find a receiver to save his life.
I would hate it if we signed Mike Vick.
We need to use our first pick in the draft to get the best QB we can get.
Comment by Chief Tom — October 22, 2008 @ 3:29 pm
I’d love to sign Vick! I was at the cincy game where he threw for 300yds and 3td’s he has ups and downs, but what qb doesn’t
Comment by mike — October 22, 2008 @ 3:46 pm
Michael Vick SUCKS!
Comment by Michael Vick — October 22, 2008 @ 4:12 pm
I say we sign Vick since he is right up the road in leavenworth and all, and then draft tebow. As long as Clark hunt let’s King Carl and his toadie Herm run this franchise into the ground we might as well have a crcus at the QB position to keep us entertained.
Hell, it will be worth watching every week to see Tebow counseling Vick back into society and then going down to the Paseo and giving circumcisions.
Comment by Big Booms — October 22, 2008 @ 4:23 pm
Playbook? Ha! It should take him about 3 1/2 mintues to memorize Herm’s dazzling playbook.
Hell, well ALL know the game plan… it’s the same cookie cutter game plan they’ve used for 15 games (exclude the Broncos game…. that was an anamoly).
1st and 10 (false start McIntosh), 1st and 15= run left for -1, 2nd and 16= pass in the flat for 1 yd, 3rd and 15= draw play for -2, punt…..
Comment by Johnny 5 — October 22, 2008 @ 4:31 pm
Hey Johnny S,
Don’t give away our game plan!!! Bret Favre might call other teams & tell them too.

Did we really sign Quinn Gray? Hold the phone are tickets still available for this year!!!!!!!!!!Herm and Carl are retards
Comment by vince — October 22, 2008 @ 5:36 pm
I say for Tony’s sake we trade him for a quality QB. or L.J. we have better backups in my opponion.
Comment by vince — October 22, 2008 @ 5:40 pm
We’ll probably need a couple more QBs before the season is over. Gradkowski will get his chance. Culpepper won’t sign here, he knows better. Vick, might be able to get a weekend work release. Saturday they can send him to the dog track to clean up the dog pins and he could play backup for the Chiefs on Sunday. We really don’t want Vick, we want someone like Vick.
Comment by Jeff in VA — October 22, 2008 @ 5:48 pm
Gray will be okay. He should be starting by week 10. He has to be better than what we got.
Comment by Jeff in VA — October 22, 2008 @ 5:53 pm
vick is trash
Comment by JC — October 22, 2008 @ 6:23 pm
Say what you want about VICK but we sure could use his speed at QB to run for his life and scramble.
Comment by J-Rock in Texas — October 22, 2008 @ 6:30 pm
I actually think that the Gray signing is good. He is still young and has put up respectable numbers in his limited amount of playing time. He has thrown twice as many touchdowns as interceptions and has completed 55% of his passes. However, I would like to see more of Thigpen. This season is really his first season experiencing live NFL competition and he is making a big transition from his days at Coastal Carolina. In my opinion, he has begun to show some improvement and should be given at least a couple of games to make a sound decision on whether or not he could be a player here. Either one of these guys are better options than Huard, but neither will do anything unless the O-line improves.
Comment by Joe in AR — October 22, 2008 @ 6:30 pm
I hope he does well(Quinn Grey).but Clark Hunt should be ashamed of himself, for allowing Carl Peterson to ruin this franchise this is the worst chiefs team i have ever seen assembled.Fire Carl and everybody under him.
Comment by Chris — October 22, 2008 @ 7:00 pm
Chief Tom and chfsfan need to go suck each-other off somewhere. I hate to tell you this but Michael Vick will be back in the league by 2010 say what you want about the guy but he is a Football Player.
Michael Vick will come back into this league in either of 2 ways….someone eager to earn respect or someone that has been institutionalized my guess is the previous. Mike will be 30 years old, not have taken a hit in 2 years so he won’t be that rattled and ready to play. His crimes are unforgiveable and disgusting but if goddamn it I can see past them (said it before I own 2 pitbulls) then others should also. This is America if someone pays their debt to society and does their time than you have no right to judge them for any kind of success they should or should not be entitled to in the future.
chfsfan go ahead and post some b.s. news you heard of about Vick having pending state charges, Virginia already got what they wanted they have alot of his propertys in VA, he’s a free man come July and all he’s gonna need to serve is a short NFL suspension.

YEa, sure… sign Vick…. then we can have a dog killer and a woman beater on our team… what? are we trying to model ourselves after the Raiders and have a team of criminals? Hell at least Grey can run, and he will be doing allot of it and so far.. hasn’t been in jail that I’m aware of.
Comment by Wulf_8811 — October 23, 2008 @ 2:07 am
Gray, not Grey.. sorry, been up for 21 hours straight now… good night
Comment by Wulf_8811 — October 23, 2008 @ 2:08 am
The NFL is a business not a charity and not a church and if Clark Hunt is worried about his franchise looking bad it’s a little to late. If all Herm wants is a bunch of “Good Guys” then hire a bunch of preists and be done with it. You sign the best players regardless. The reason I don’t want LJ is because he has no speed not because he hits women. Yes that’s bad but everyone messes up sooner or later. I’m not judgmental about their character I’m more interested in their abilty. New QB we signed does look pretty decent.
Comment by Rocky — October 23, 2008 @ 9:56 am
How long will it take to get this new guy hurt with our talented, but underachieving offensive line? I give it a couple weeks. By the way FIRE HERM AND CARL!!!!!!!!!!!!
Comment by Brian — October 23, 2008 @ 10:06 am
RPitts please tell me why you would say this- “Well, I still say believe and with strong fan support, wins will be sooner than later” – are you serious? dude come on, I’m 28 and have been a die-hard for about 20, 21 years and during that tenure the chiefs have always had outstanding fan support and so far b/c of bad management decisions (mostly by Queen Carl) the chiefs have accomplished nothing!!! Armpits, please quit taking your happy pills and join the real chiefs fans in reality and this desperate situation we call the chiefs season. FIRE HERM AND CARL!!!!!!!!!!!! This crap is NOT ok.

Well I think the main point is Quinn Gray Wont do shit for us Daunte Culpepper at least can be a leader and get the ball to Tony G and D Bowe Johnson is losing it But Kolby Smith and Jamaal Charles are great backups. Fuck Herm hes a waste of time and Carl Peterson is a CHEAP ASS that doesnt want to help the team improve Go CHIEFS no matter what the outcome is OUR TIME IS COMING!!!!!
