[Kansas City.com] The Chiefs could be missing as many as five defensive starters Sunday: linebacker Derrick Johnson (hamstring), Tamba Hali (ankle), Brandon Flowers (hamstring), Turk McBride (shoulder), and nickel back Patrick Surtain (quadricep).

Guard Adrian Jones (ankle), defensive end Brian Johnston (calf) and running back Jamaal Charles (ankle) could be questionable.

“We should know a lot more on Wednesday,” coach Herm Edwards said. “Tamba and Johnston will have MRIs this week. – Those are the cards we’ve been dealt.”

    3. herm will be here for the haul guys. clark hunt did an interview in a houston newspaper the other day and said he would be here for the haul. that doesnt say much for peterson and our conditioning coaches though! get these guys in better shape and they wont get so banged up!!!

    4. All these injuries just give Herm an excuse for a crappy season. Conditioning coach should definately go. I think Herm will survive the season and coach again next year and we will probably win a couple more games as these young guys get better. The best thing Herm can do is get a QB that the fans will like. If he brings Croyle back we’re in trouble.

    5. If Herm was fired today, would he ever get a head coaching job again? Unlikely. So why would he be considered a good fit for us going forward?

    8. VLTC, b/c the Chiefs are ‘committed’ to this plan and he is a part of the future. No matter how much you bitch they saw this season coming whether they admit it or not and are not putting his job on the line based on the win loss record.

james…Thigpen is still not proven. Remember how awesome Huard was when Green went down with injury but how much he sucked mid season last year, when a whole season was wearing on him. There are no signs that Thigpen is in the long term plan. We still need to see how he finishes to evaluate him fairly. We may still go QB in the draft even if he is the shit this year. I would definitely rather be in Cleveland’s qb situation rather than ours.

Personally i hope we can get a quality RE in the first round then go QB in the 2nd if any quality QBs fall that far. I think a great speed rusher would complement Hali, Tyler, and Dorsey perfectly. Dorsey is still going to be a force but he needs to be a run stopper and put a pass rusher on the outside. With the play of most of our young secondary guys i am happy with almost everything on D for the future. O-line still needs some minor adjustments but we are getting better. i still think McIntosh is the weakest link and flashes from Herb Taylor earlier this year, i think, warrant him getting some playing time at RT later in the season. thats my rant and i’m sticking to it.

    10. Fatdann, we had a great pass rusher, got rid of him. to me dorsey has done nothing and the statement about mcintosh is the only one that really makes sense to me. You have got to stop thinking with your heart and use your head. If you think that Herm is going to lead you to the promised land you are in for a rude awakening. Herm couldn’t win with the 07 Patriots team let alone the mediocre assembly he has here in KC. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Chiefs and have for 40 years but giving a loser like Herm credit or at least credibility is going to destroy this franchise. All that I heard before was how bad Vermeil was here, how he left us old and washed up. Vermeils teams were the most entertaining Chief teams of all time. Maybe we didn’t get it done in the playoffs but we had fun getting there, we didn’t have to sit in mysery every Sunday wondering even if the Chiefs do play well how is Herm gonna screw it up at the end. I predicted this demise of the team on Jan 1, 2006 when driving back to Illinois from a Chiefs game they announced that Herman Edwards was front runner for the job. Man was I bummed.

    12. “committed” is a very relevant word considering the state of things… if you catch my drift.

Knowing someone is going to stink ahead of time doesn’t make it better. Yes, everyone saw this season coming. Many of us saw it coming 2.5 years ago. I wish I would have been wrong, but I wasn’t. I see that as confirmation that change is needed, not as proof to stay the course. Eight years of Herm has been enough for me.

But he has a “plan”. Is there a coach that doesn’t have a plan? Does a plan, even a horrible one, make it ok? Should I feel good about 1-17 then? Should I feel good about a losing team and a coach with terrible game day skills and flawed philosophies? Should I accept failure because it’s “better failure than a few weeks ago” since there is nowhere to go but up? Should I accept Herm because “gosh darnet, people like him”?

hahaha croyles a pussy?? he tore his mcl dumbass and another ligament that i cant think of right now have you ever torn a ligament in your knee and played through it? doubt it plus he’s a quarterback so he kinda needs it lol ya dumbshit

      fatdaNn
i completely agree with you about thigpen although so far it looks good i wont jump on the bandwagon that thigpen is the future but if he still kicks ass the remaining 7 games then i would say that he is the future and then NOT WASTE A PICK on a qb if he is the future. use that pick on a linebacker or a guard or DE but not a QB if thigpen is determined to be the future and so far dorsey is playing like a ryan “bust” sims but i still have faith that he’ll turn it around sometime
      Go Red and Gold
