[KC Chiefs.com] Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Wednesday that the club has agreed to terms of a one-year contract with DE Jason Babin.
Babin has seen action in 47 games (22 starts) with Houston (2004-06) and Seattle (2007-08). He has registered 147 tackles (100 solo), 13.0 sacks (-85.0 yards), two passes defensed, two forced fumbles and a pair of fumble recoveries. Babin played in two games for Seahawks this season. Babin was originally a first-round pick (27th overall) of Houston in the 2004 NFL Draft.

This could be good…originally a first round pick who did not live up to his potential and needs a second chance to show he still has it???
Who knows…but, then again, he may just be another cast off stiff, that Carl Peterson tries to sign hoping to save his job!

couldn’t hurt. We are not getting any pressure on the opposing QB.
Comment by Chief Tom — November 13, 2008 @ 2:17 pm
he is a white boy shit.

Oh yeah what is Jarred Allen… better than any dark pass rusher in the league…. What? and he doesn’t even look like he lifts weights all heart and motor baby. We could use that white boy on the roster again.
Comment by Chief Brad — November 13, 2008 @ 4:12 pm
Best pass rusher is Dwight Freeney.
Comment by James — November 13, 2008 @ 5:34 pm
Who’s the dumbass who said “and he’s a white boy?” Might wanna check Jared Allen’s stats before you open your mouth numbnuts, cause he led the league in sacks last time in KC. And the best pass rusher is not Dwight Freeney, not anymore.

Drafted in the 1st round so there most definately is some talent and skill there……maybe this is the place for him, who knows. I wish him the best!

WOW! Now that we have a black president every black person in America thinks they can spout off racist comments, UNBELIEVABLE! Let’s save this site for Chiefs talk ONLY. Okay cupcake?

agree with Jesse – keep the racist remarks to yourself. We need to get out of that ’60s mentality. EVERYONE IS CREATED EQUALLY

Bradley needed a second chance and now I believe he is getting it here. I am really impressed with him coming in and getting the second wr position. Maybe this guy will work out to.

OK CARL PETERSON, LETS TRADE JARRED ALLEN, THE BEST DE IN FOOTBALL, AND REPLACE HIM WITH BROKEN DOWN PROJECTS.WHAT A SHITTY JOB YOU HAVE DONE.
Comment by Chris — November 14, 2008 @ 10:34 am
Your living in the past man just because you don’t want to be lead by someone does not mean you get to spout off anything and expect not be ridiculed for your ignorant comments.
We have only won one game, but we could very easily be at 4-5 and a half game back from the division lead. In actuality we can still make the playoffs but that was not the goal this year the goal was to build a team. We have started let me say again we have started to do this over the past three weeks.
The only real way to build a team is to create consistency. Not doing the same things over and over again but performing at a certain level of professionalism and desire to win and eliminate mistakes. We have done that over the last three weeks. Even without LJ. LJ has been the face of this franchise ever since trent green went down in game one of 2006. The new face of this franchise is Thigpen and his cast and crew. I expect Larry to get about 20 touches in this game if we are going to win, but I also think the best qb on the field won’t have the name of Brees. Because the best performing qb will be the one who does not get sacked five times and throws two picks. The best performing qb on the field at arrowhead on sunday will be Thigpen and here is why.
People will cheer for him and his team will play for him. Just because he has never won a game does not make him an ineffective qb. Croyle was an ineffective qb because he could not lead this team. If every seat were to be filled on sunday and arrowhead became what it used to be we would win. The stats are hugely in our favor, except attendance on Sunday. The reason we have the best record against NFC opponents is because they rarely get to feel arrowhead roar. I know what it feels like when the earth shakes and arrowhead comes alive. It is devastating against most opponents. The problem is Brees is a damn good qb and will probably do very well with colston coming back from injury.
We can win if we all want to win. Don’t root for Herm or CP’s checkbook that you’ll be filling by getting your keister in a seat or more preferably just to standing in front of while yelling. Just root for Tyler and Gonz and LJ if you think he’s innocent. Just do it cause it is the right thing to do as a fan.

You can’t judge a pass rusher on stats, it’s how much he puts pressure on the QB.
Comment by James — November 14, 2008 @ 3:25 pm
wow thats awesome that you guys put so much thought into that comment.
Comment by kill me — November 14, 2008 @ 4:08 pm
Great comment Jake. I agree about the NFC thing, but Brees played for the Chargers, he knows what we can do. And that will be their best bet for victory, rely on their best weapon.
Comment by Travito — November 14, 2008 @ 7:42 pm
Brees did play for the Chargers but this is not the same Chiefs team he faced twice a year when he was in San Diego.
So I really don’t think he knows anything other than what taped replays show.
Comment by Kansas City Krusher — November 15, 2008 @ 10:20 am
Heck, Why not sign Simeon Rice. At least he’s a proven pass rusher.
Comment by JRock in Texas — November 15, 2008 @ 4:29 pm
Hopefully and most likely Herm is gone next year but does anyone really think Queen Carl is gone? I don’t believe so, he always has had the Hunts wrapped around his finger.

Chris,
They traded Jared Allen for Branden Albert, Jamaal Charles and DeJuan Morgan. Morgan hasn’t contibuted, but I wouldn’t call Albert or Charles “broken down projects”.
Comment by chfsfan — November 16, 2008 @ 12:09 pm
chfsfan, WE COULD OF SIGHNED ALBERT WITH THE 5TH PICK LOOK AT OUR DEFENSIVE LINE IT BLOWS, NO PRESSURE AT ALL ON THE QUARTERBACK, ID RATHER HAVE JARRED ALLEN DRAFT ALBERT AT 5 AND NOT HAVE GLENN DORSEY. WE SHOULD OF ACTULLY SIGHNED FREE AGENTS. CARL PETERSON BLOWS

chris
your a DUMBASS we got charles too and morgan who is starting to play more and more and had a really nice tackle yeterday and dorsey will come along i’m glad we traded Jared allen for all of those players do not remember all those times allen was in trouble with dui’s? he was not being a team player by getting suspended cuz he loved to get drunik and drive plus now he’s having shoulder problems at minnesota i think it was a very good trade and i think you are a DUMBASS
Comment by mike41 — November 17, 2008 @ 10:43 am
Mike i do agree with you Chris, i would rather have Allen over Dorsey, but if we hadn’t he’d be having shoulder problems here most likely. Either way our D-line would be bad. Agree with the DUI comment however.
