For me, the scariest aspect of having this guy as a head coach. Is not the arguement whether he is a suffecient coach or not, (I believe that point has been adressed and answered) But more that this guy hasn’t been fired yet, and moreover, that he still has support in the ranks! Are you friggin kidding me? The reason this is sooo scary for me…is this scenerio. Herm says “I’m rebuilding, so he have an excuse to NEVER win a game or develop ANYONE, and to put veterans into a position that they would want to leave”! And he gets overwhelming support! We are DESTINED to mediocrity! If this is the case, (and it is) Then all the NEXT coach has to do, is win 6 games a season! Then he will be a GOD! We will be stuck with him FOREVER! (as long as he “has a plan”). Put simply, If they will keep and support this fool, then they will also Keep and support the NEXT fool! I hope the “next fool” is accidentaly a genius!
Also, in my opinion, ask Ben Roethlisberger, Any QB on the chiefs roster, and perhaps even Chad Pennington why injuries are so frequent, they may have an answer, or perhaps a guess, if not, ask Culpepper, he valued his life (and limbs).

People want so desperately to show Herm is doing good that they are wearing the 2 point decision on their sleeve as a badge of courage.

In the grand scheme of things, it doesn’t really matter. What matters is we lost.

Moral victories don’t count for anything. Yes, losing by 1 point is better than losing by 34, but it is still a loss and the Chiefs are still 1-17.

I dont understand the people arguing over the 2 point call. We are 1-8. Its not like we can make the playoffs or anything.

I liked this and I couldn’t have said it any better.

I have never seen so many fans become satisfied with their team for just being in a game. Hell if we get lucky and win 2 games Herm will be given the key to the city and a lifetime contract renewal.”

That is my biggest concern right now. Suddenly, the team shows improvement and is competitive, so “lets give the coaching staff another year”. The frightening thing about our situation is that CP will not fire Herm. It will take a major decision from Clark Hunt in order to be rid of the two of them.

As for LJ, I agree that he should be prepared to have a good game, especially with the way the passing game is working. However, I never had faith in him to lose. When he started crying during his second year, I lost respect for him. And with his recent character issues, pretty sure I won’t gain any back. Not to mention the fact that he doesn’t always show up. I respect his ability, but I think he is too selfish and will never be a team oriented guy. Personally, I would rather have Kolby Smith and Charles splitting time, although Kolby played inconsistant before his injury.

I understand both sides of the 2 point conversion decision. We were running on empty on the defensive side of the ball, but our offense was moving very well through the air.

I hope LJ comes back strong and wins the fans who have lost faith in him back. I think that opening up the offense as well as LJ’s layoff will be enough to inspire him to have an excellent game Sunday.

I wouldn’t have gone for the 2 pointer last week. Play 24 seconds of defense and win the coin toss. Like JD said, we take 3 plays to score from the one why chance it.
