What’s the point of power rankings when they go almost primarily with the records? The point should be to “go beyond the record”, taking games into context and taking trends into account. But they rarely do, except in obvious cases like us just beating Oakland.

Fact is, we showed little to nothing new this week… Oakland was just plain bad. We are where we should have been the last few weeks, right around 27-28.

I am still mad that traded Jarred Allen. I know that we got some nice value in return. But he is one of the leagues most dominant players. The pass rush is our biggest weakness now. and even if we draft a good DE out of college. He will probably never be able to do what Jarred Allen can. We let a hall of fame pass rusher go. We should not have done that I think that Allen might win the Lombardi trophy before us. And the Vikes would not be nasty without him.

Don’t worry, the Vikes won’t be winning the Lombardi trophy anytime soon… I live up here in MN, and they’ve got the same type of coach that the Chiefs do. Even if the team gets loaded with talent, the coach counters that with predictable, ultra-conservative play calling and bad game management.
The only half time adjustments that Herm or Childress make are adjustments to what the team was doing right in the first place……

VLTC, i couldn’t agree more with you about the “power rankings” they seem more like just a standings based on record.
And chief brad, i agree 100% with you about the jared allen trade. It would’ve been one thing if he was 31 or something, but i believe he was like 25 or 26, right in the meat of his career. But hey, if i knew so much i’d be the coach or gm, right herm supporters?
