[Kansas City.com] Tight end Tony Gonzalez and left guard Brian Waters, the Chiefs’ two Pro Bowl players last year, were not among the more than 60 players participating in either of the two practice sessions Saturday as part of the team’s three-day voluntary minicamp. Running back Larry Johnson worked in both sessions.
Veteran linebacker Mike Vrabel, acquired as part of a February trade with New England, also was a no-show.
“These are all voluntary deals,” coach Todd Haley said Saturday. “To have 60-plus players out there is a good sign of guys who want to be here and want to learn how to practice and play and be a good team.”

Really? I thought BW never showed up to voluntary work outs. Whats the difference between this year and the past? This is just something to stir up the dust storm. Gonzo on the other hand could mean something big! I hope not.

It’s voluntary…plain and simple. When it comes down to required practice and they don’t show up…then I’ll get mad.

Tony G. may not need minicamp at this stage of his career, but it’ yet another red flag! Tony, lead, follow or get out of the way!!

It is a new system. It would be nice if everyone showed up to learn the terminology and meet the new coaches and players. But it is “voluntary”, so we can’t really complain.
