With their 4th round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs selected CB Donald Washington out of Ohio State.
Washington (6’0″, 197) is a talented defensive back with the size and skill to be used in a variety of roles in the secondary. He left Ohio St. after a junior season in which he was suspended for the first two games for violating team rules.
Washington displayed a lot of skill on the field early in his Ohio State career, but he was plagued by inconsistency during his junior campaign.

Ohio State normally turns out some good secondary in the NFL..I think he is our steal of the draft. Although Jenkins is rated alot higher then him and stood out alot more during their stay at OSU, he will be very physical and do a good job as a nickleback if not starting over Carr..

I don’t know anything about this guy but, ChiefsFanOhio if you’re right, then we are set at CB for years. If you think he could possibly start over Carr or play nickle while we still have Leggett, then we well have 4 (I think) great young corners. Good pick then, ChiefsFanOhio, you give me hope!!

He is not even close to Carr’s ability. He will be our fourth corner behind Leggett. The only reason Leggett wasn’t on the field at the end of the year as our nickle back was because he had some injury problems. So depth is good but he is not as good as the 3 guys we have in Flowers, Carr, and Leggett.

Im betting this guy will try to make a name for himself on special teams. I also think that some people havent realized yet that Pioli/Haley want to have some freedom in their play calling as far as defense goes. So if we’re playing a good run team we can load up the box with 4 LB’s, and if we’re playing a good passing team now we can hopefully bring in legget for nickle pkgs, and both him and d.washington for dime pkgs.
A huge factor in almost all championship teams is depth people, and we need depth badly, considering all of the trouble we had last year with injuries. I hope this guy turns out to be sleeper pick, and surprises some of us.
