[KC Chiefs.com] The Chiefs announced on Friday that the club has signed 12 rookie free agents:
CB Jackie Bates (Hampton)
LB Jovan Belcher (Maine)
TE Tom Crabtree (Miami of Ohio)
CB Londen Fryar (Western Michigan)
DE Dion Gales (Troy State)
T Cameron Goldberg (Duke)
DE Robert Greenwood (Alabama)
G Darryl Harris (Mississippi)
WR Taurus Johnson (South Florida)
S Ricky Price (Oklahoma State)
LB Corey Smith (Cincinnati)
LB Pierre Walters (Eastern Illinois)

So it looks like having to register has scarred quite a few of you guys away, it shouldnt i registered and had my password set in no time.
As far as this list of rookie free agents, it looks like we might have got a few more big bodies for the DE spot, one thing that i thought Pioli would have taken advantage of was the fact that no one has signed g.harrel (tx tech). we could really use a cheap 3rd string QB on our roster, considering that b.croyle is still on the roster making the same amount of money he did when he was considered our starter.
I mean there must be something wrong with this kid. nobody wants to sign him, and he put up some pretty staggering numbers in college. either m.crabtree made him look really good, or he made crabtree look good, who was the 10th pick overall. maybe g.harrel just smells really bad or he picks his nose a lot or something.

Don’t know anything about these guys. Hope there is a diamond in the rough in there. It is odd that no one took Harrell. I think getting rid of Croyle would be a good idea. He had his chance.

Pierre Walters is the only one of them that I expect to make the team. Hes actually a DE but can play OLB as well so I expect his versatility plus ability to contribute of special teams to help him out. Hes easily the best player we got in my opinion.

Honestly though, who last year thought that guys like Connor Barth, Dantrell Savage, Maurice Leggett, Mike Cox, etc…would still be on the roster today.
Also getting those guys in the game really helped their development…especially Leggett, I think he has the ability to be a very good nickle corner and who knows maybe a starter eventually.
Anyways in my opinion any one of these guys who we picked up could in theory make the roster…I love this time of the season!

I’m still here.. although I have to admit this service that we are being forced to use now is quite crappy… I can’t even change my multi-random-character password??? That’s really, really lame. Mods is there anything we can do about this??
ANYWAYS…
One or 2 of these guys will prob make the team in some form, probably practive squad to start but who knows maybe someone will shine.
Also not included on this list is Chase Patton, 6’4″ QB from Mizzou that played with Colin Brown and backed up Chase Daniel. I do not think he was signed yet, however I remember reading an article in a college football magazine about this guy getting a better shot in the NFL that Daniel mainly just due to his size and his supposed stronger arm… I guess that may be coming to frutition now providing he puts on a good show.
That may be why we didnt look at Harrell at all. As far as reasons why Harrell never got drafted I believe is due to Crabtree making him look good, and also scouts were not liking the fact that there is a consensus that he has a weak arm. If thats true.. then it must be pretty damn weak considering he had a hell of a college career….
How much of it was Crabtree? I guess we will find out after the Niner’s season just what exactly he can do.
If he is the next WR superstar then I seriously am going to be angry….
