[Kansas City.com] Wayne Rudy, the original athletic trainer for the Kansas City Chiefs, has died at his home in Katy, Texas. He was 88.
Rudy spent 24 years with the Chiefs, dating to the franchise’s founding in 1960 as the Dallas Texans until his retirement after the 1983 season.
During Rudy’s tenure with the Chiefs, he was an integral part of three AFL championship teams and two teams that reached the Super Bowl, including the club that won Super Bowl IV.
