[Kansas City.com] Chiefs running back Larry Johnson, less than 24 hours after taking on coach Todd Haley on his Twitter profile, maintained an edge Monday when approached by reporters in the team’s locker room.

Johnson used another gay slur after saying he wouldn’t speak to reporters.

Johnson, sitting next to second-year running back Jamaal Charles, told reporters that “I’m not talking till Thursday,” his usual day of speaking with reporters.

Then Johnson turned away and whispered.

“Get your faggot ass out of here,” he said.

On today’s outburst, Johnson’s agent Peter Schaffer said, “I think it was a combination of being embarrassed or frustrated that what he said was taken out of context. We’re going to be putting out an apology for it. Not necessarily what he said but his choice of words.”

    1. The Chiefs don’t need Johnson. He hasn’t done anything last or this season. He only performed well when he had to fight for his position against Holmes. His agent is a fool for making a remark about him being embarrassed. Schaffer, you can take a player out of the ghetto, but you can’t take the ghetto out of the player. I’m sure Dallas or Raiders will pick him up when he’s a free agent.

    2. I have always been a fan of LJ but I give up on him after this scharade. I say bench him for the remainder of the season and then cut him……Cleveland would be a good place for him to lace his cleats.

    3. What goes through this guys head? I cant believe we deal with his sh** every year. Cut him he’s a terrible locker room influence.

    4. Man, lets just see if we cann hurry up and get something for him, Im sure there are teams out there for him. YES, it’s the O-line mainly responsible for no production on offense among other things but LJ has had the opportunity to show what he has and he hasn’t, There has been some holes there to hit and he doesn’t, he hits the pile where everyone is at and just takes the tackle……There is NO BURST in him, most of all, there is no BALLS ON HIM ANYMORE!!!! Let a hungrier back take his place.

    5. Doesn’t do any good to cut our only decent option at running back. Haley is only giving 2-3 carry’s a game for Charles. He should have 15-20 touches a game, running and receiving.
I can completely understand his frustration. We have only won 3 games in the last 30. Hell, I am frustrated. You think it’s hard to watch this team, try being on it.

    6. Sorry but the immature little baby is right. Get rid of Haley, bench Cassel, DRAFT or SIGN some friggin O-Line talent. I want Gruden or Cower….they can turn this program around, Haley can drop back to being O-Coordinator.

    7. I agree with you, Gonzo. I think its very ironic that LJ is calling other people faggots. Who the phuck is the one acting like a real faggot? LJ needs to stop whining and start playing. It seems that allmost all of our previous players are doing a decent job playing elsewhere (Allen,Gonzo,K.Fox..the list goes on and on).Pioli needs to do some serious spring cleaning and get the right chemistry going here. As for this season goes… Come on 1st overall draft pick!!!

    8. Get rid of Haley?? How soon you forget the disaster we just left. Yes, we are not playing well right now. But there are signs of a different, more positive attitude. The last thing we need, is the “cancer” drawing more attention to himself and affecting the locker room. I’m sure everyone on that team is frustrated, but you don’t hear them saying anything.

We do need more talent on the offensive line AND more pressure from the defensive front seven, but giving LJ an excuse for his behavior is ridiculous and shows how shallow society has become. “It’s ok LJ…say whatever you want because your mad and frustrated,” BS…..should have gotten rid of his ass and taken the salary cap hit.

So, the next time you have your employees productivity down for a couple weeks, do you think it is fair to fire you? We have been much more competitive this season and could easily be 3-4. Frustrated or not, we need to let this play out and give them a chance to right a ship that was laying on the bottom of the ocean! Hopefully without LJ.

    11. I’m not dissing LJ for his comments because frustration happens and we are only human. I diss him for his play. We’ve got THREE very usable backs behind LJ. It’s time for Charles, Smith, and Savage to carry the load.

    12. Come join my “Don’t let Larry Johnson break Priest’s record” group on facebook. He doesn’t deserve it.

    13. I think LJ is back to wearing his diapers. What a terrible replacement for the Chief’s best-ever running back Priest Holmes. Drop that guy ASAP.

    14. that piece of s**t needs to sit down and shut the f**k up! i wonder what his father has to say about this. does he not realize that we are reconstructing this empire, and talk like that will kill morale and ruin any chances of us getting back on top? at one point he was the strongest ground game we had, and now he is nothing more than a buck passing, egotistical, crybaby half a$$er! put jamal charles in, he is still hungry. this is just a blessing in disguise….RID THE TEAM OF THIS CANCER KNOWN AS LARRY JOHNSON!!!! GO CHIEFS!!!!

    15. Those of you who want Charles to run more are about to get your wish, I HOPE! He averages 5 ypc behind the same line, but he gets the fumbles more often. I agree they should cut LJ and not let him get the Chiefs rushing record.

are you kidding me? bench cassel?haha do you know anything about football? yeah cassel didnt play good last week..you honestly think brodie croyle would do a better job? cassel woul be playing A LOT better if he had a half assed decent line..i mean hell our right tackle isjoe the plummer…not to mention he has noone to pass to..d bowe isnt doing a good of job he could do plus he gets lots of attention…bobby wade is alright and then who? sean ryan? are you kidding me?? we have NO WEAPONS..we need a playmaking reciever or a recieving tight end….sean ryan isnt that great of a recieving tight end not to mention he is TERRIBLE at helping out with pass protection…..damn we need jason dunn and tony g back…..bottom line is that its NOT cassels fault that he only has one good offensive lineman (who is injured) and he only has one good playmaker to throw to…bench cassel=dumbest comment of the day

    17. Does anyone want to buy an LJ jersey? I have home and away. I’m so picky about who’s jersey I buy. If the Hunt family can hire the wrong coach, then I guess I can pick the wrong jersey.

    19. Mike41. What flew up your butt? Cassel hasnt done any better than Brodie. No weapons? Shows how much you know about football. Wade is no slouch, dbowe is a great reciever, charles is a beast when given the chance. Seems to me like you need to do some more research. Cassel continually overthrows people, he is just not worth what we gave or paid for him. Croyle did fine with the same team and had he been in at Washington we wouldve had more points on the board. Croyle ahould start!

    20. Oh and “its not cassels fault” THAT would be the dumbest comment of the day. Dwayne Bozwes numbers where better with Croyle in at the begginning of the season. Hell our offensive numbers where better when you look at the comparison. Dont be so quick to jump on the Cassel bandwagon there mikey. He has done nothing in this league to make himself a PROVEN qb in this league. Even i couldve had the season he did in New England with those recievers to throw too.

    21. Gonzo
I disagree with your assessment on Cassel as well as our receiving corp.

Cassell has no confidence in our line because he gets hit EVERY play. Even when he gets time he is expecting that big hit from the back side. He does need to improve on getting rid of the ball to avoid a sack. But if you combine being hit on every play AND receivers dropping balls, what can he be confident about?

As far as our receiers go, they have talent, but appear to be short on focus. DBowe “should” be one of the best receivers in the league, but he’s not. Mark Bradley is underrated in my opinion, but also drops balls. Bobby Wade is good at times, but has no business returning kicks. Sean Ryan is a good receiving tight end….blocker he’s not. Charles is good but I would prefer Kolby or Jackie Battle, but they are injured. And I don’t think he is an every down back. Hope I’m wrong.

We need production from the line or we won’t see improvement. PERIOD. Bring in Tom Brady or Peyton Manning and the result is the same.

    22. Now see…there is a nice, and educated response.

Look back at the beginning of the season Travis. Do the math, you’ll see what I mean. I do agree with you on the RB situation, but I have faith in Charles. The TE situation…I would kill to have Dunn back!
