[ESPN.com] Chiefs running back Larry Johnson has belittled his rookie head coach on his Twitter account, saying Todd Haley has “nuthn” when it comes to NFL-quality credentials.
The remarks were posted several hours after the Chiefs were routed at home 37-7 by San Diego.
One tweet read: “My father got more creditentials than most of these pro coaches.” That is followed by: “My father played for the coach from “rememeber the titans”. Our coach played golf. My father played for redskins briefley. Our coach. Nuthn.”
Haley did not play high school or college football. He attended college on a golf scholarship.
“I talked to Larry about it and he was focusing more on pumping up his father than anything else,” Johnson’s agent Peter Schaffer said. “He wasn’t trying to downgrade anyone … yes, everyone is frustrated after a loss like this but I wouldn’t put too much into it.”
A spokesman for the Chiefs said Monday it was not certain if the tweets, posted under the alias of “Toonicon” were posted by Johnson. The Kansas City Star reported, however, that Johnson had said the online alias is his and the account includes a link to Johnson’s personal Web site.
The final post read: “Make me regret it. Lmao. U don’t stop my checks. Lmao. So ‘tweet’ away.”
The tweets drew responses, including one that referred to a nightclub incident in which Johnson was accused of spitting in someone’s face. Johnson’s response include a three-letter homophobic slur.
Johnson’s account has since been made private.

Immature, but on the money. What has Todd Haley done? Cower, Gruden or Fisher if he gets fired. We need a real coach to turn this around.

This guy is just sorry and will never grow up. He is not even that good like a Berry Sanders. Berry made all of those plays with a bad oline and look at his career. lj cant even avg 3.0 ypc he is at 2.7 so until you produce dont say anything you over paid woman beating baby. On second thought just dont say anything at all and leave KC!

Wow! Just when I thought his attitude had changed, he’s right back where he was. What a loser. They ought to cut him. He’s not tradeable. No one will want to take up his contract in a trade.
I don’t care what you think of the coach. As a player, you don’t call out your coach! Leave that for us, the fans.
At least we should get to see Charles more now. Wonder what he’ll say when Charles averages more ypc than he does.
Johnson is just like T.O., only he’s not nearly as talented.

LJ’s credentials aren’t that great either. I do question Haileys play calling, but deal with it man to man, that’s just a chicken crap way to handle it

KC can do with out Johnson, he hasn’t put out any numbers since Priest got hurt and the only reason Johnson put up Pro-Bowl numbers then was because of #31. Since he only got the job because of #31 retiring, only because #31 retired, Since he has nobody to challenge him for the his starting spot Johnson can keep doing these 2.7 average days and still receive his money. Someone on scout team should step up.

L.J. has to stop whining like a biatch, and start gaining yards. He seems to complain about every coach he has ever played under. If he is not making plays , its everyone elses fault but his.Larry, you need to shut the phuck up and run hard, you idiot! Remember when coach Vermeil told you to take your diapers off and play some football? Well, THAT TIME IS NOW!!!I got 2 words for LJ…Jamal Charles!

I think the issue here is Johnson is sick and tired of getting smashed by two lineman and a couple linebackers before he gets to the line of scrimmage. Johnson is immature and says things he shouldn’t but name a running back who could perform with that awful offensive line? Johnson needs to point the finger at his offensive lineman. They are the reason Haley is so conservative with his playcalling. Why would you let a multi million dollar investment (Castle) get crushed every single play?

Hopefully this will get Charles some more carries. I’m sick of seeing Johnson fail time after time. Charles ypc is way better right now anyways.

Todd Haley has started like everybody else a coordinator then coach, he’s been in football along time he knows what he’s doing.its not his fault Clark hunt and Scott Pioli didn’t give him any player’s.remember we have the lowest payroll in football.Bill Beleciek, and Bill Cowher couldn’t win with this group.if your going to blame anybody blame the front office, stop using Haley as a scape goat.Larry’s just frustrated like any competitor would be.

I am not sold on Charles either. The guy cannot stay healthy and he falls over when the wind blows. I would like to see Battle get some more carries. He runs like L.J. used to. Either way, I think our running backs could use and upgrade, as well as most of the team. Bowe seems to drop the easy passes week after week. I know he has some great catches as well but it is hard to overlook some of the mistakes he makes. Ever since they traded Pollard, I secondary hasnt been that great. If I see Mike Brown and Leggitt miss anymore easy tackles, I am going to stop watching the rest of the games. It seems every week our offensive is playing with their heads down, and our defense always lets an opposing player have a career game. It is easy to point the blame at the most vocal and immature player because we do not want to point the finger at our not-so-sure hands receiver in Bowe, who is a crowd favorite. Trade Bowe and L.J. while we can and wipe the slate clean with these guys. Before you tell me how stupid I am that I am talking about getting rid of Bowe, look at the new receivers we get every week that are more reliable, such as Lance Long and Wade Smith. They can figure out the offense in two weeks.

I question LJ’s character and talent (basically he has neither…). He hits woman, won’t abide by a signed contract and uses slur’s when confronted. This guy does not have the talent of a Barry Sanders, Emmitt Smith or Adrian Peterson so why keep an as*hole like this around? He’s a punk and will always be a punk, sit him for the remainder of the year just to get under his skin. I have absolutely no respect for him as a player or a man at all!

Eric, I’ll name one player that could run behind the Chiefs O-Line, Jamal Charles. He’s averaging 5 yards per carry behind the same line.
Comment by Jeff in VA — October 26, 2009 @ 9:36 pm
Jamaal Charles has averaged 5 ypc, but that is only on 23 carries all year. Not a bad average for a 5 to 10 carry back, but I dont think he is an every down back that is going to carry this chiefs running game to the next level. Besides Charles isnt pushing defensive lines back with runs up the middle. They use Charles on sweeps and outside runs. Jeff, it sounds like you are a real chiefs fan like myself, and you have probally watched a lot of games this year. You have had to notice that L.J. gets crushed by defenders before getting back to the line of scrimmage. I bet if Charles had the same amount of carries as L.J., that Charles ypc would not be 5. They would be similar to Johnsons 2.5 ypc.

Larry Johnson is a PIECE of Crap and we need to cut our loses with this guy, I would rather have anybody but him on our team. We are rebuilding and we will get there, I hope, but we need a little addition by subtraction. It will better for the long term for the health of the CHIEFS.
