[KC Chiefs.com] The Chiefs placed running back Kolby Smith on injured reserve today, ending his season.

Smith injured his ankle in the win two weeks ago against Pittsburgh, in just his third game back since being activated in early November after recovering from a knee injury that ended his 2008 season.

The Chiefs promoted running back Javarris Williams from the practice squad to fill the roster spot vacated by Smith.
