[Chiefs Blog] The Kansas City Star is reporting that the Chiefs have placed tight end Brad Cottam on the injured reserve list with a back injury.
After Sunday’s game, in which Cottam had five catches, he was examined and x-rays revealed a cracked cervical vertebra.
There is no spinal cord damage, and Cottam has no decreased function in his extremities.
Cottam, a third-round pick in last year’s draft, has 16 catches for 183 yards in 24 career games.

I think he was on his way to starting and I think he will next year. With him and Pope, it’ll look like the Gonzo/Dunn days.
