[Topeka Capital-Journal] Accused of making an obscene gesture to a fan, Kansas City Chiefs coach Todd Haley says that such a thing is not in his character.
Fans were abuzz Wednesday over an accusation leveled Tuesday night through a Kansas City TV sportscaster. The fan, who was not identified by the sportscaster, said Haley flipped him off while walking into the tunnel right after Sunday’s home loss to Cleveland.
Haley responded Wednesday, saying he appreciates the Chiefs’ fans and wouldn’t disrespect them. He said he has five children to be a role model for and that making obscene gestures to fans is not the way he behaves.

Get a grip Chiefs fans our season is over, don’t start bogus rumors trying to cause controversy for the off season, be postive and move foward toward next season. “GO CHIEFS”!!!!!!!!!!!!

The season was over when the first game was played…..We are in a rebuilding mode due to a new coach…AND we will be for a while still….thanks to dumbass Herm

Yes we are rebuilding..And all you guys quit with the “blame herm for everything”..His reign in KC has been done and over with for sometime. This is Haleys show from here on out.

Herm actually is to blame…Haley has to repair what he has destroyed….so it may take a little longer, losing a player like Allen do to depreimental to the team, and keeping someone like LJ who WAS deprimental to the team makes no sense. With all the new players and no mentors, Haley is actually doing really good with getting mentors in and re-establishing this team in the AFC. It will take time and it will take patience, my guess at least 4-6 years

I agree Herm dropped a bomb on this team and he left us picking up all the pieces.

There are some issues yea I agree..But Herm did bring in Flowers, Carr, Charles, and Hali..Peices that Haley Im sure is thankful that Herm left. I never agreed with bringing in Coach Edwards, I just never thought he had what it took to coach in this league. However, lets be honest even though Vermeil brought us some good seasons, he didnt do it by draft, he did it by bringing in old prooven stars. That my friends is what Herm had to deal with after those stars bounced out of KC. Thats why the Chiefs need to keep Haley for the long haul. Im thinking before they fire him and bring in a new coach, he should be KCs coach for a solid 5 seasons.

My feeling is so what if he did it. If he didn’t, he probably should have. I agree with the comments that Haley needs time to repair the damage from the last 3 years. Some of the players they brought in haven’t worked out, but that happens on good teams too. Everybody wants a HOF QB, but there just aren’t that many to go around. People should lay off Cassel too, he’s doing well with a bunch of WRs who drop as many as they catch.

Every new coach usually has to clean up a mess that was made or he wouldnt even be there because the previous coach wouldnt have been fired…
Cassel is doing as good of a job he can do with the talent that surrounds him..But we have all went over and over this with Cassel..Im ready for the offeason, and with a year under Pioli and Haleys belt, they now have a good idea who to go for in FA and the draft.

Who cares if Haley flipped off a fan. He is a football coach not a politician. Some of the best coaches in the NFL arent the most PC. Besides, if I was Haley I would have flipped off more than one fan. I have been a Chiefs fan since I was born and alot of KC fans can be dicks at times. Thats why it is fun to be a KC fan. But when you add fuel to a flame, expect to get burned.

Quit blaming Herm for our horrible team. Last time I checked, this new staff traded away Gonzalez and drafted Tyson Jackson which spends most sundays on his ass.

Oh yeah, this is also the same coaching staff that did not address the offensive line last offseason when we could have used at least two upgrades on the line. And this is also the same leadership that got rid of Bernard Pollard. Lets just break down the past three years: we got rid of Larry Johnson, who I still think has gas in his tank and we just dont have the type of o-line for him, Tony Gonzalez (HOF), Jarred Allen (best de in the nfl), Bernard Pollard (one of the hardest hitting safetys and def leader)and drafted Dorsey who I think and hope will come around, Tyson Jackson, who is a flake, and keep stockpiling on below avg receivers. I guess the only good thing has been Flowers, Hali, and Charles.

Hay all you so called Chiefs fans quit bitchin about our team and give a little support, if you dont like the Chiefs wither it be the organization, coaching staff, players, owners, whatever the get the hell off the train and go be a Raider fan because this is the type of things they would do, not a loyal chiefs fan, sure I’m not happy with everything we are going through right now but when we get turned around it will be that much sweeter knowing I weatherd the storm………

I like how everyone blames Herm like he’s the guy that chose a bunch of bad players. Too easy. You know what? The Priest, Trent Green, Will Shields Willy Roaf era, well that was a lot of fun, wasn’t it? Didn’t amount to a Super Bowl because they never quite got the defense to go with it. Back to my point, Herm Edwards inherited an old team that had a gaping hole at left tackle. If you don’t have the players, cap room, well, it’s going to be tough. And then they do something stupid. Trade Jared Allen for a decent tackle. And Glenn Dorsey is getting paid just a tad less than Jared.
Sounds like a Carl Perterson move. And Matt Cassel is the next Elvis Grbac. A lot of QB’s put in a perfect situation are going to post decent numbers. New England, like the mid- 90′s 49ers, pretty good situation. Over paying for an over rated qb isn’t gonna get ya anywhere. The Pollard thing was dumb. LJ wasn’t a fit anymore. So many things wrong….this is a doomed team for awhile.
