[KC Chiefs.com] Chiefs linebacker Derrick Johnson has been named AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in Kansas City’s 44-24 victory over Denver on Sunday.
Johnson played a key role in the Chiefs inaugural victory at Invesco Field. After Kansas City took a 20-17 lead in the third quarter, Johnson intercepted a Kyle Orton pass and returned it for a 45-yard TD to put the Chiefs ahead by a 27-17 margin. Johnson struck again in the fourth quarter, returning another Orton interception for a 60-yard TD to give Kansas City a 37-24 lead en route to the victory.
Johnson’s two interception return touchdowns tied an NFL single-game record.

How many wanted him gone……man o man….. reason you are not the coach or on the Chiefs payroll as a advisor.
No, I know Larry Johnson was a given, but so many people saying earlier in the year he needs to go too.

Haley is a dumbass for not starting him. I’ve said this all along that Johnson needed to be the starter.

I think sitting on the bench did DJ some good. I’ve always wanted to see him be the player that he was supposed to be and I think he’s figured it out too. Hopefully the win over Denver won’t be DJ’s best game ever. I think he’s earned his starter position back now and will be a force next season.
