[KC Chiefs.com] The Chiefs finalized their coaching staff today with the hiring of three assistants including former Chiefs’ cornerback and Hall of Famer Emmitt Thomas.
Thomas will coach the Chiefs defensive backs. He spent the previous eight sesons with Atlanta where he most recently served as assistant head coach/secondary. He also served as the Falcons interim head coach for the final three games of the 2007 season.
In addition to Thomas, the Chiefs also hired Bernie Parmalee and Otis Smith.
Parmalee spent the past five seasons at Notre Dame, working as the tight ends coach, and he will hold that same position with the Chiefs. Smith will serve as the Chiefs defensive quality control coach.

I have been a Chiefs fan for a long time and now I see that we are back on track baby!!!

I’ve heard bills fans call us the Kansas Sh*tty Chiefs. Looks like they will be the ones that are sh*tty.

Good players are going to be begging to come to KC now instead of avoiding it.
Free agency should be interesting. Although, I really don’t understand this “uncapped year” thing and how it will affect free agents. I do know if you have 55 players and not one of them make the pro-bowl, then you don’t have a very talented team and any of them may be on their way out.

Jeff, we do know that some will definitetly not be on their way out. That would be Jamaal Charles and Brandon Flowers. Jamaal Charles would have definitely been in the Pro Bowl if he was the starter for a full season, instead we wasted our time with Granny LJ.

I do feel that with the new additions at coaching postitions such as Crennel/Weiss and Emmit Thomas we should be seeing alot more bites in the free agency pond.
Most of the credible mock drafts Ive seen look like this
1)Okung, OT, Oklahoma State
2)Maurkice Pouncey, C/G, Florida
2)Brandon Spikes, ILB Florida
3)Mardy Gilyard, WR/KR, Cincy/ or Sergio Kindle, DE/OLB, Texas
4)Larry Asante, SS, Nebraska
5)Ben Tate, RB, Auburn
So with that the 1st 3 rounds looks to be geard towards Oline and LB positions.
So in my opinion I forsee the Chiefs going after FA signings at the WR and CB/S positions.
I think we have all said our peace on “how much we would love Boldin” but I dont see it happening, nor do I see getting Brandon Marshall.
First I think KC should resign Chambers…I also and as crazy as it sounds Id like TO if we can get him fairly cheap. I think our Offense would be just that much more dangerous with him. Dont let the Bills sucky ass team make you believe TO is “done”…If we cant get him then i say Steve Breaston. Either way, Bowe/Chambers and Owens or Breaston would not only open up our passing game with an improved Oline, but make Charles more scary. Lets face it Wade, Long, Lawerence and Copper arent cutting it.
I know Owens probably wont happen, and Haley and Pioli might be afraid of another LJ on their hands, but I think Owens is a different headcase then LJ, but atleast he puts up numbers.
FA is just around the corner. I am very excited to see who will be KC new additions, as well as for the draft. This year is going to be a good one guys..I predict good things.

Rumor on ESPN insider –Are the Chiefs interested in Julius Peppers?

Hey Chiefs Tom, my dad likes to call the Buffalo Bills the “Buttflow Bills,” like it?
Kansas Shitty Chiefs vs. Buttflow Bills

Peppers would be a big part of the new defense. Him along with Hali would help DJ, DW, GD, TJ and our secondary which will be a lot better next year with Thomas there

Im just hoping that our O will progress with Bowe breaking out this year along with getting some more wideout help. We need more o line help to help cassel and build on the rest of charles young career. With a better O to keep the D off the field as much and with better players and coaching KC can be a dark horse in the AFC next year

Jamal, Bowe, Chambers, and that new coaching staff have got me so excited its crazy. Next year for us is going to be so much better its scary. We will be the turn around team of the year next year you all just watch and enjoy KC rise from the ashes!

It all begins up front and the O and D lines need serious help. The O line was not terrible by the latter part of the year but the D line still could not stop anyone. We’ve got tow number ones and a number two on the line and a another couple of number ones at lb. that should not happen. Front office was right to let Tony G. go. Let’s see how good Scott P. really is. Count down to the draft begins…
