[Kansas City.com] The Chiefs re-signed running back Kolby Smith and quarterback Matt Gutierrez on Wednesday. Guard Mike Goff was released.
Smith, a fifth-round draft choice by the Chiefs in 2007, has shown enough ability to keep them intrigued, although his last two seasons have been ended prematurely by injuries.
Goff, a 12-year veteran acquired during the 2009 offseason, started seven games for the Chiefs last year but eventually was replaced by Wade Smith.

I agree with Releasing Goff, but I dont know why they resigned Kolby Smith. He is not gooing to make it as a starter or even back up in this league. I guess Matt Gutierrez is in the same boat..I think we just need 2 QBs on the team personally.
I say if the prince is ok and barring passing a pysical I think they should try and get either Brian Westrbook or LT..Both similar to Charles and would be excellent mentoirs. But like I said pending a good phsyical and fairly cheap.

Releasing Goff makes it that much more likely that an OT will be taken at #5

Yeah but Goff is a guard thought not A tackle. I don’t think that will have any affect on who they will choose at No. 5….. Come on Eric Berry

Releasing Goff could mean, Albert to guard and draft a OT??? We need 3 QBs until they get the line fixed. Kolby Smith gets hurt every year, more than even Brodie Croyle. I don’t think we should have signed him.
I predict a trade for Cassel and drafting Clausen (Charlie Weis connection). Or getting Golden Tate in 2nd round. I wouldn’t mind getting LT (thinking about Marcus Allen), but Westbrook had those concussions last year, I wouldn’t mess with that. We might get that big back from Georgia Tech in the 2nd round. There are lots of old big running backs out there as free agents to back up JC.

I just hope they make this draft count. If KC doesnt plan on drafting Okung, do we trade our pick for later in the 1st?..Besides Suh, Berry, McCoy, and Okung I dont see KC chosing anyone else in the top 10.I like that Brian Price from UCLA (DT)..Hes a beast. And that ILB McClain seems good but I just dont see KC using their 1st pick on a LB unless we get 2 1st round picks. I see trading our pick to the Steelers for theirs..Take Dan Williams from Tenn hes a true NT which is what we need to make this 3-4 work, plus he wont get much money because of where he was drafted. Then KC can lock up Charles and Flowers.
I wonder if KC will make any noise come March 2nd when FA starts. I think they should really push getting Steve Breaston(WR), Tony Scheffler(TE) He is very talented,
I think they should bring back Tony Richardson as well..He still is very good and can def help.
As much as I dont want to see him leave I dont thin DJ will be coming back..Which leades me to believe or want us to persue Barret Ruud or Demeco Ryans..

No we don’t need LT or Westbrook. I say let’s try to get Willie Parker. That makes more sense then getting the other two.

The Chiefs would move Albert to the other tackle position where he is more comfortable.

I would like to see Sproles come to KC.
