[San Francisco Chronicle] Running back Justin Fargas, who was cut by the Raiders yesterday for failing a physical, will be in Kansas City sometime this week to visit with the Chiefs.

Fargas, who says that his health is fine, was due a $1.7 million bonus from the Raiders this week.

Last season, Fargas appeared in 12 games, carrying the ball 129 times for 491 yards and 3 touchdowns.

    1. Clearly he was cut because he was do a roster bonus. I would’t mind having him, he returned kicks for us at Michigan before a broken leg and a transfer to another school whose name is blasphemy in my house. Look, if Thomas Jones wants a fortune, this is not a bad option.

    2. When healthy he was the most productive back on the Raiders – not a bad choice plus he would be able to stick it to his old team twice a year.

    3. I think it would be better to get Fargas just because he’s 2 years younger. Fargas just now turned 30. Thomas Jones will be 32 before the start of the season.

    4. Well that worked out for us with Marcus Allen so I say if we cant get Jones then why not..I just dont want there to be confusion on who the man is in KC..Jam Charles..

    5. Let’s not compare Hall of Fame Marcus Allen with Thomas Jones, that would be ludicrous. Also, there is no question That Jamaal Charles is the man, he just needs a good back up to keep him fresh.

    6. Chief Tom,
Im not comparing the great Marcus Allen to Thomas Jones..Re-read the post…This page is about Fargas coming to Kansas City, I said if we CANT get Thomas Jones, then why not get Fargas..Basically we got a RB in general from the Raiders once before and it worked out for us..So lets do it again.

    7. I think Fargas would be a good addition to the Red and Gold.

    8. No no no Fargas sucks why do all of you think he was cut by one of the few teams worse off than us as far as talent goes.

    10. I dont want either one of them if we need a back that bad then get the kid from old miss. Dexter McCluster but you know we do have Kolby and Jamaal so I think we are ok in this postion, I don’t care who is back there if our o-line can’t block then it doesn’t really matter does it.

    11. Have any of you read why Fargas was cut it says at the top of this page he failed a physical “HE FAILED A PHYSICAL” for the Raiders isn’t this the same team that has Jawalrus Russel for a QB thats gotta be a tough physical if his fat @$$ can pass it.

    12. Hay Scott and Todd the raiders just released a WR, and a DT. take either one of them or both but leave this never was RB. to ride someone else’s pine. 3.8 yards per carry wow and 3 whole touchdowns. At least Thomas Jones had 1402 yards and 14 touchdowns last season. People do your homework before you start your oh I would like to have this guy crap….
