[Chiefs Blog] The Chiefs announced today that they have re-signed unrestricted free agent WR Chris Chambers.

The three-year deal could pay Chambers as much as $15 million. He is guaranteed a minimum of $5.9 million.

Chambers will be 32 in August but was the Chiefs best wide receiver after joining them at midseason last year. He caught 36 passes, four of them for touchdowns.

    4. This guy out played D Bowe from the time he came in. Well deserved. I wonder if we could get another second round pick for Bowe. Gonna be some big name receivers in the second.

    5. I think KC should and will give Bowe another year to see if he can break out..Everyone seems to forget his rookie year he had almost 1,000 yrds and his second year he had 86 rec for 1022 yrds..He was suspended last year for 4 games and missed one for injury so its not like he only had 600 yrds in 16 games, it was 11 games..Personally I think with Bowe and Chambers all year long one of the two is going to have Pro Bowl numbers..Def with Jam Charles its going to open up our Offense..So I vote keep Bowe, no need to trade him for a 2nd round pick to use on a WR that may or may not be a bust because Bowe has proven already he can have a 1000 yrd season..

Also I bought a Bowe jersey last summer and I dont want to put it away just yet lol..

    6. I agree. I brought the point up of chambers and bowe during the season and got ripped by other chiefs fans. i like bowe, but a lot of chiefs fans always find excuses and stick up for the guy when he drops 5 passes a game. he could be a dominant receiver in the nfl, but he obviously lacks work ethic (showing up to training camp overweight). chambers seemed to pick up the offense the first week with the team. i would like to see gilyard picked up in the second round instead of tate. notre dame players are overrated and havent really mounted to much lately. i would rather the chiefs pick up gilyard, benn, or lafell from lsu before tate.

    7. david-why the hell would we trade bowe a proven wide reciever to get an unproven 2nd round wideout? thats like wiping your ass before ya take a shit, it doesn’t make sense!!!

    9. Look, Bowe is a first round draft pick and we are already talking about this year being a make or break season for him. I can argue that D Bowe is not a proven WR because I watch the games. He doesn’t want to work, he doesn’t know where to line up, and he drops way too many passes, he gets suspended, he gets hurt. He is a bar fight and a gay slur away from having no trade value at all.

I doubt we will trade Bowe. But, if there is any doubt about his future with the Chiefs his trade value may be at it’s highest point right now.

    10. Thomas Jones is a Chief. Deal is for $3 million this year, $2 million next year and another $500,000 in incentives.
