[ESPN.com] The Washington Redskins made their biggest free-agent splash Friday night, signing running back Larry Johnson to a three-year contract.
The deal is worth $3.5 million and could reach as much as $12 million total with incentives.
Johnson, a two-time Pro Bowl pick who has run for 6,219 yards and 55 touchdowns in eight NFL seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals, is expected to work with incumbent Redskins running back Clinton Portis.

Good Luck Washington!!!Your gonna need it.

This hurts. I am 100% a Chiefs fan, but I have been trying to become a Skins fan (second to the Chiefs) since moving to Virginia. I have hated this guy since the diaper issue. He’ll punch a woman soon and it’ll be over.

LJ is to slow, he needs the best O-Line in the league to do any good.

Their o line might be worse than ours was the last couple years.

Wow! My how the mighty have fallen, I mean it seems only a few years ago he was mentioned in the same sentence with Priest Holmes, LT, and even the great James Brown! Goes to show you – no one player is bigger than the game! I never was a huge fan of LJ, mainly because Priest was always my guy. I did have hopes that he would step into Priest’s shoe and take the reins and run with it. I guess hindsight is everything, who would’ve known that Dick V. would have been the best thing that ever happen to LJ, I mean he was the only one to get into LJ’s head and make him run angry… LOL! Just a huge disappointment in so many levels. Many would love to have the talent and the opportunity that he had, and to see it play out the way it did was like watching a train wreck waiting to happen and can’t do anything to prevent it from happening. It’s not like we didn’t try to warn him… the writings on the wall was pretty clear for all to see, in my opinion he might of thought that he had superman like powers and that no train could stop him… I guess the best lessons in life is that no one person possesses that kind of power! Like Coach Dick V. would say they are just renting their starting position and there is always the next guy, J.Cnharles, willing to step in and rent that slot!
