[KC Chiefs.com] The following is the updated selection order for the Chiefs in the 2010 NFL Draft. This list takes into account the 32 compensatory draft choices which were awarded on Monday (the Chiefs received no compensatory picks).
Chiefs Picks
Round 1, 5th overall
Round 2, 36th overall
Round 2, 50th overall (Tony Gonzalez trade)
Round 3, 68th overall
Round 4, 102nd overall
Round 5, 136th overall
Round 5, 142nd overall (Tyler Thigpen trade)
Round 5, 144th overall (Tank Tyler trade)
The Chiefs do not have any picks in rounds six or seven. The “mystery pick” traded to Miami (although it was speculated for quite some time) for OL Andy Alleman and Ikechuke Ndukwe was a sixth-round pick (173rd overall). The Chiefs also traded their seventh round pick to Miami in last year’s draft when the club acquired a pick to select TE Jake O’Connell.

I Cant wait for the draft. Im so glad that they moved the draft to prime time so I dont have to miss it. Every year for the last seven years Ive had drill the same weekend of the draft, or been deployed.
I think having 8 picks in the 1st 5 rounds is awesome. Pioli knows what hes doing and I believe that atleast 5 of those picks can be starters within the next couple years leading our team to be a powerhouse..I think 2 of the picks we get this year will start right away.

Thank you for your service Dan B. I am more excited about this years draft, than I have been in years, because I know were going to improve this year and we’re heading in the right direction. I am still not sure Pioli made the right choice last year, but then again, you didn’t hear anything about Aaron Curry during the season last year either. Brian Orakpo appears to have been the class of last years draft (defensively). Hopefully, Tyson Jackson will continue to improve. Like I’ve said on other posts, I don’t believe we can go wrong with this year’s first pick, we can use anything. What if they selected Jimmy Clausen? LOL, that one would be a shocker I guess.

Ill tell you what if they selected Clausen I would pass out lol…They have no business drafting a QB in the 1st 3 rounds this year, let alone any rounds in this years draft..I say if Cassel cant do the job with the upgrades we have already got KC will draft a QB next year..They have to much invested in Cassel and truthfully he isnt bad, he did pretty damn decent for what he had to work with (Bowe being suspended, and Chambers coming in half way thru the season)..The oline was a shame, and def improved the 2nd half..I think he will do fine, not Manning/Brady or Brees type numbers but well enough to make us win games..If Haley is smart he will take full advantage of Charles/Jones combo.
I really hope Dorsey and Jackson come into their own this season. I believe they will but this is Dorseys make or break season in my opinion. Jackson has another year to not show big improvements..I almost am willing to deal Dorsey right now, We could get a 2nd for Dorsey now, if he stays and plays with KC this year and has the similar year as the 1st two we would be lucky to get a 5th in 2011.
Im still stuck on who I want KC to take, Okung or Berry, both have upsides and both “on paper” look to be automatic upgrades…I know I cant handle another 1st pick by KC that wasnt expected (Jackson, Sims, Siavi)..
If either of the 2 are not there when we pick KC trades their pick to another team and pick somewhere in the middle of the 1st round.

I am excited as well but I would like to think about trading down from the 5 position for another pick in the 1st and a 2nd rounder if possible. Berry is apparently a special player but…..that’s alot of money to wrap up in a safety. History shows that many of these real physical guys spend a significant amount of time injured, i.e. Bob Sanders, Troy Paleamaleau (sic)so I’d cautious with that pick.

Berry or Suh, hands down, we need defensive play makers. Yes our line needs help, signing lilja is a big step and I still think we could get a great Olineman in the second round with maybe the TG pick.

Gonza is my daddy is absolutely right! I think our o-line has improved now,…. off course we can still make it better and and also get a defensive playmaker : ) its possible Suh can drop to 5 and Berry will be there for sure, either one of these guys @ 5 and the best o-line man available @ 36 or 50…..Go Chiefs!
