With the second of their two 2nd round picks in the 2010 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs selected CB Javier Arenas from Alabama.
Arenas (5’9″, 197) was a three-year starter at Alabama who was awarded All-Conference honors the past two seasons and named as a special teams All-American last year.
Arenas is a smart, tough defensive back who really makes his mark on special teams. He offers potential as a dime back at the next level, although his true value is on special teams.

this guy is gonna be tough… he could give carr a run for his money.. plus he is an amazing kick returner something we have been lacking since dante

This is great depth, Like Pioli suggested, it’s making up the back half of this roster with smart talented play-makers so that if we have to go to the 2nd or 3rd string the quality doesn’t drop off the table.

Not sure about this pick? A good player but a reach that would probably have been available with our next pick! Charles Brown to play RT could have been a nice pick here.

Our team should be more fun to watch this year. We have some new playmakers and I think that Dwayne Bowe is going to have a career year. Our Offense could be pretty darn good with all of our new weapons and Charlie Weiss. Jamaal Charles is awesome and now Mccluster can go for big plays. Arenas on some nice returns. This could be a lot of fun Chief fans!!
My main concern is our defensive pass rush. We need some edge rushers!! Our talented secondary cannot he hung out to dry again. It was painful to watch those big plays by phili and dallas against our defense. At least the slow Mike Brown is not at safety anymore…. What about resigning Jarred Page at Free Safety and putting Berry at Strong Safety?! He is a solid hitter and a good blitz man. Jarred Page is a good player also. Remember is game winning pick vs Oakland in his rookie year? Page and berry with flowers and carr Arenas at the slot/nickel.
