I am an Iowa State fan and have little love for Iowa, but this guy is a stud. He gives 110% all the time, unfortunately that was about 30% too much for Iowa State this year. You will like him once you watch him make some Tony G. like catches. Too bad Tony G. isn’t around to teach him the position.

GREAT PICK….yeah we could’ve picked up Hernandez from florida, which is a string bean of a guy and never was a great run blocker. Tony moeaki is a big guy, he will basically be the 6th lineman when we run a tight end set. Kiper and mcshay both said that moeaki had late first round talent but he had some nagging injuries at iowa. So all the people saying we screwed up on this pick…just relax i think it will pay off in the long run.

I just have to say that this is the first draft in many years that I have been completely satisfied with. There may have been the occasional surprise, but this is the first time I can remember where I wasn’t opposed to ANY of our picks. Bottom line– Pioli wants to build a team that can actually win games. All of our picks are great players that were picked specifically to toughen up our notorious weaknesses. If this franchise keeps going in the same direction, I think that within 2 or 3 seasons our beloved Chiefs will once again be a team respected if not feared. I’m stoked for this season to start!

We moved up to get this guy and either he or 4-5 other highly rated TE’s would have still been available with that 1st 4th round pick? Puzzling? I do like his 1st name for a TE though.

I like what I see in Tony Moeaki, my only concern is some durability issues. It doesn’t matter how great a player is, if he’s made out of glass – He can’t help this team on the side line, ala Croyle… I think one of the more glaring issues with our defense last year was TE’s scraping across and making big plays, the fact that Pioli has drafted Eric Berry and Javier Arenas sp?, tells me that he hopes that they may have addresses that problem. Dexter addresses our need for a return game and brings a slot receiver position that can create match up issues in coverage, aka Parcy Harvin. Would’ve liked to see us address our NT position but hopefully we will sign someone off of free agency.

If somebody other than just Tamba Hali can put some heat on the QB than our secondary can start to make some plays. Flowers, Carr, Berry can all get some int’s and that new secondary arrival from Bama will be a good nickel back and if he picks it off it will be exciting with his open field abilities. We just need a pass rush because with time any QB and group of receivers can make plays on any secondary. I do not want to have to rely on the Blitz to create QB pressure. Jackson is a solid Run Defender and Dorsey as well. But who other than Hali is gonna get some sacks for us?? Derrick Johnson needs to get in there more. But we need a true pass rusher other than Hali on the DE position for 3rd and long.

How many Super Bowl teams have the Chiefs built under Peterson? How many did Pioli help build in New England? Everyone probably thought the same about some of his picks who are now HoFer’s quit yer god damn whining people and SUPPORT OUR TEAM. Don’t be such vaginas.

I dont know why a lot of you guys hate this pick. He is a hell of a blocker, and is just going to make our running game better. im stoked. you can run the ball with a dual threat in charles and jones, throw short passes and screens to mccluster, which should open bowe. bowe should be extatic about what our offense is going to be like. plus, our defense just got a lot better. we will have the best def secondary in the nfl. just need dorsey and jackson to step up. next should be cam thomas nt nc. im excited to be a chiefs fan again!!!

Jeff I agree with your last comment there. There were few immediate OT starters in this draft. I remember seeing Moeaki play last year in college. He is great. He is actually a guy that is hungry for the ball and calls for it all the time. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT THE CHIEFS NEED. Great draft so far. Still would like a linebacker prospect Vrabel is old.

We moved up 9 picks to get him and lost a 5th round pick. I think he would have still been there at 102. He was about 10th best TE on the board. He must have some great intangibles.

One thing is very clear with all these picks, they are all smart, fast and good hearted people. Some of the stories I have read on these guys are amazing. Berry used to go in on Fridays to help the equipment guys and show them he appreciated their contribution to the team. Thats pretty special for a college kid.

Im not that worried about the tackle situation. There were 4 that were worth a first to third round pick and they were gone in the first round.

maybe if we didn’t trade up to get this guy it wouldn’t be that bad of a pick. i don’t know why we ddn’t pick either hernandez or dickerson for te or draft bruce campbell to have another o-line prospect.
