[KC Chiefs.com] The Chiefs officially announced on Friday that the club has signed first-round draft pick Eric Berry.
News that the two sides had agreed on a contract came out Friday morning when Berry himself posted on his Twitter account that he “was about to head to St. Joe!!!” and then followed that up by posting that “Aka the deals done!”
By Friday afternoon, all the major news outlets were reporting the signing, including NFL.com which reported that Berry had signed a six-year, $60 million contract that includes $34 million guaranteed. The deal would make Berry the highest-paid safety in NFL history.
The Chiefs did not release any details on the terms of the contract.

Ok he’s got his lute. Time to become an NFL big time player. Our last 2 top 5 picks have not been exactly blowing the roof off. time to change that. And who knows maybe Dorsey and Jackson will get it going now. We have spent a top 5 pick on defense the past 3 years in a row. We should have an awesome young Defense
