In 2008, Welker did a lot to make both Cassel and Moss look like upper echelon players. I don't see a Welker-type threat on the roster to draw enough attention away from Moss to make him look effective (Moeaki might be the closest). I don't see him as enough of an upgrade over Chambers to warrant the considerable BS that he carts around. I really don't have much faith in either of them.

Good read!..

Now about Moss. It all sounds like a good idea to bring Moss to KC..It would not only open up the pass game, but make our rushing attack even deadlier...However I believe in dont fix it unless its broken. A locker room distraction can really kill a team. If Moss plays like he did his 1st couple seasons with the Pats then I wouldnt mind, but how he went back to his old ways last season and w. the Vikings this year I dont want any part of it. Its no secret KC needs to strengthen their passing attack. We cant be 32nd in the league going into the postseason (pending we make it). The Chiefs need to be able to beat teams thru the air as well.

I agree with Nathan and enjoyed the article. Thanks for laying off Matt Cassel this week. Maybe Randy Moss can make Cassel a better QB? LOL

I kind of agree with KC63 about running the ball. I may have done it a little more too. However, we did have 45 rushes and that's a lot. They're doing a good job of sharing the load, hopefully our boys will stay healthy all year. Maybe in a game like this they could give Jackie the ball 10 times too.

Running the ball and playing good defense almost got the Jets to the superbowl last year.

KC63 They were stopping Thomas Jones pretty easily I dont think we could have rushed for 400. Every time they put Thomas in I knew the drive would end... and it did. He played the role of "drive-killer" that game. I like him but I dont think we should put him in unless Charles gets tired or when we need 3 yards or less. I think Charles should be the one to decide
he needs to come out of the game or not.

I just want to know am I the only one who is seeing the routes that these receivers are running? Its either 3 yards and stop or 3 yards and out. For the love of God Weiss I know you dont trust Cassel but STRETCHING THE FIELD will actually help the kid, not hurt him. Stretch the field and then the receivers underneath can find more room to run. Its painful to watch the Chiefs passing game.

I forgot the defense. Romeo called a great game for the most part and our players executed except for that Steve Johnson TD reception to tie the game. I don't understand why you play 4 yards off the receiver at that point in time. We should have been in press coverage at that point in the game given the position of the ball on the field.

Good editorial!!! We escaped this game by the skin of our teeth.

I do believe that the coaching staff needs to take some responsibility for this being so close. Although,I agree with Haley being aggressive in most situations, I also believe in taking points when needed. Into the second quarter of a scoreless game means that points are hard to come by. Take them when you can. Now if this was the first quarter and we were knocking on the door of a touchdown, go for it, but at that point in time I would have kicked the FG.

Weis just baffles me at times. I understand that if they are expecting you to do one thing (in this case, run the ball) you can sometimes catch them off guard by doing something else (passing the ball). I also know that until the other team stops your "bread and butter" (running the ball) you continue to take it at them until they show that they CAN stop it. His play calling yesterday was not good for the most part. If I would have been calling the plays, we would have rushed for 400 yards in the game because they weren't even coming close to stopping us. Plus, I just don't trust Cassel to throw anything more than a screen or a quick out/slant.

Overall good win, but we better pick it up if we want to go to Oakland and win a HUGE divisional game.
