[Chiefs Blog] Matt Cassel was suited up and participating in today’s practice, the first of the week for the Chiefs as they get ready for Sunday’s game against the Rams in St. Louis.
During the brief portion of practice open to the media, Cassel was running with his teammates (though he lagged behind the other quarterbacks). He stretched and then was first in line, a position reserved for the starter, when the quarterbacks started throwing.

Im sold on cassel although i dont think the chiefs would have won last week with him in the line-up. chiefs fans should be happy this year even if they dont make the playoffs. I want them to win out and go to the postseason, but kc is still about a half year ahead of where they should be. next step is to get another wr in the offseason (larry fitzgerald aka gerald fitzlarry), akeem ayers (lb ucla 1st round), and kristopher o’dowd (center usc 2nd round), and everything after that is gravy.
PROS from this year (maybe premature)
-QUARTERBACK
-RUNNING BACKS
-DB’S
-TAMBA
-OL (need to rebuild through draft with youth though. remember when OL was not addressed from ’06 until now and with the retirement of shields and roaf, it took 3 years to rebuild the offense)
-TURNOVER RATIO
CONS from this year
-PASS RUSH
-INCONSISTANCY ON BOTH OFFENSE AND DEFENSE(could be youth)
-TYSON JACKSON
-POINTS LEFT ON THE FIELD
-ROAD GAMES
-DEF ON 3rd DOWNS
