[Chiefs Blog] Cornerback Brandon Carr and right tackle Barry Richardson received contract tenders from the Chiefs today. Both players have three seasons in the league, making them restricted free agents under the expiring collective bargaining agreement.
Carr was offered a first-round tender, which under the current CBA means any team that signs Carr to a contract would have to give the Chiefs a first-round draft pick.
Richardson, like defensive end Wallace Gilberry earlier in the day, was given a second-round tender.

Hopefully someone takes richardson from us. He is TERRIBLE.

I think it would be best to get a first round pick from Carr. He is decent but not really that great. He would be easy to replace especially for a 1st rd pick. As for barry richardson hes not very good at all either so we would be way better off with a 2nd rd pick for him too. Just think of what we could do with 2 1st rd picks and 2 2nd rd picks. I hope we keep Gilberry though he will make a good full time DE this year if he beefs up like Jared Allen did.
