[Chiefs Blog] Today is the deadline for the Chiefs and all NFL teams to tender players they believe will be restricted free agents.

The Chiefs have done that with at least one player, defensive end Wallace Gilberry. The Chiefs tendered Gilberry at the second-round level, according to Gilberry’s agent. Under the expiring collective bargaining agreement, this means the Chiefs would get a second-round draft pick if Gilberry signs with another club.

Gilberry was second on the Chiefs behind Tamba Hali with seven sacks last season.
