With their first of two 5th round selections in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs selected QB Ricky Stanzi from the University of Iowa.
Stanzi (6’4″, 223) was a four year starter for the Hawkeyes, and a team captain last season. He was one of five finalists for the Premier Player of College Football Award and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, and one of 16 semi-finalists for the Maxwell Award, Davey O’Brien Award and Manning Award.
With their second selection in the 5th round, the Kansas City Chiefs selected DE Gabe Miller from Oregon State University.
Miller (6’3″, 257) was a co-captain for the Beavers last year and was also received PAC-10 Honorable Mention honors. He played tight end his first two seasons before making the move to defensive end.
