[Kansas City.com] Chiefs tight end Leonard Pope was at a pool party Saturday in Americus, Ga., when he heard Anne Moore screaming that her son was drowning. Bryson Moore, 6, had slipped into the deep end. Pope said he didn’t think about whether it was his responsibility, and he didn’t think about how he might be putting his own life in danger. He said there was no time to think much at all.
“I just reacted,” Pope, 27, said Tuesday. “I knew I could swim. I just had to get there. I wasn’t waiting around for no one else.”
When the 6-foot-7 Pope reached the pool, he saw the boy’s fingers outstretched and his head submerged in about six feet of water. Pope, fully clothed and carrying his wallet and cell phone in his pockets, jumped in and wrapped his arms around Bryson, pulling him from the pool and delivering the boy to his panicked mother.
“I just dove in and got him,” Pope said.

That gave me goosebumps…that was unselfish (cell phone and wallet in pocket) and just plain awesome. Thank you for you act of heroism Mr. Pope. May God Bless You!! HOPE TO SEE YOU THIS FALL!!!!!!!!!
