[Kansas City.com] Wide receiver Chris Chambers said he was not with the Chiefs upon their arrival at training camp in St. Joseph today.
Chambers told the KC Star by e-mail that he was on his way back to his offseason home instead.
Asked whether he had been released, Chambers wrote, “Not officially.” Asked what he had been told, Chambers wrote, “Can’t say until I speak with my agent. I might have spoken too soon, but writing (definitely) on wall.”
Chambers’ release shouldn’t come as a surprise with the additions of Jonathan Baldwin and Steve Breaston to the Chiefs receiving corps.
