[KC Chiefs.com] The Chiefs have placed quarterback Matt Cassel on injured reserve, officially ending his season.

Cassel injured his passing hand late in last week’s loss to Denver. He subsequently had surgery, and Chiefs players were told last week that Cassel would not return again this season.

Jeremy Horne, a little-used wide receiver out of Massachusetts, was activated to the 53-man roster today and will serve as the team’s No. 3 quarterback against New England.

    1. Kyle Orton is available, Denver just waived him. He knows the AFC west.

    2. My thoughts exactly jeff. The chiefs are only 2 games out in the west and play the raiders again, so why not take a chance.
