[ESPN.com] ESPN is reporting that the Chiefs plan to name Romeo Crennel the 12th head coach in franchise history.
Chiefs officials could not be reached for comment Saturday, and a timeline for when they’ll make an announcement was uncertain.
Crennel has a good relationship with general manager Scott Pioli and is well-liked by his players.
And the Chiefs’ Week 15 win over the previously unbeaten Packers and their 2-1 record after Crennel was named interim coach also worked to his favor.

I Honestly think this is the best move that we can make at this time because the players work hard and love this guy. He has a good foundation with the defense already and a good non butting head relationship with Pioli already. Plus I think he can convince pioli 2 let go of cassel and ride orton for another year while stanzi or another drated qb by us in the later rounds can develope and be our future qb. Plus our D is honestly 2 D Line 1 linebacker and a Veteran saftey away from being the loved and awesome defense that we once had through the 90s!!! Stay up Chiefs fans cuz Cowhers not leaving the comfortable booth of CBS and Fisher is narrowed his choices down to miami and STL. Plus Philbin is another OC not proven as a head coach in the NFL yet. Plus if you all remember the so called genius Bellick sucked ass in cleveland and was about to be a bust until a guy named Brady came along and made him look like a Genius coach which I still question. So Go Crennel!! Go Chiefs 2012 and beyond we are finally having stability and a foundation in place with Crennel for years to come and whomever proceeds him will have an easy job to continue winning and making KC a year in and year out success and ESPN can eat a fat D***!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally when kc starts winning GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!

This will only be great if we get a new OC and he has a strong personality, a better scheme and much better play caller.

Would be great to have …. Romeo as the Head Coach, Vermiel as the OC, adn then Cowher as the DC…… For some of you all you dont see the humor behind this, and NO THIS WONT HAPPEN, this is just a funny thought that was inspired by Vince

Adam, the problem with your plan is Cassel is under contract and Orton is not. You all better get ready to have Cassel QB next year, cause that’s probably what’s going to happen. I would like to have Orton over Cassel too, but I don’t think that is going to happen.

Hope Romeo stays the D coordinator

Jeff in Va We have paid Cassel the money that was guaranteed 2 him we dont owe him s*** Now we can cut our ties with him Now!!! Sign Orton to a 2 year deal or 1 year extension and let Stanzi grow and learn and become the starter next year!!
