[Kansas City.com] The Chiefs appeared intent on improving their offense on the first day of free agency Tuesday, setting up visits with four players who could help improve one of the league’s lowest scoring teams.
The Chiefs scheduled visits with running backs Mike Tolbert of San Diego and Peyton Hillis of Cleveland, tight end John Carlson of Seattle and offensive tackle Eric Winston, who was recently released by Houston.
Tolbert and Carlson were to be in Kansas City today. The timing of the other visits was unclear.

It would be great to add Tolbert and Winston. Hillis will want too much money. Carlson is O.K. for depth but there are better options.

What no Offensive Lineman available?……Can be a better scoring team with the QB on his ass the whole game…..

To Ernie, Winston is a proven RT to replace Richardson. You may want to read the article more carefully.

I don’t understand why we’re looking at running backs at all to be honest. The passing game has been our biggest issue….

To Leto, Thomas Jones has very little left and is a unrestricted free agent. Jackie Battle is a unrestricted free agent and probably gone. That leaves us with two backs. Jamal Charles who is coming off a major injury who should only carry the ball 10-15 times a game anyway. Also, we have Dexter McCluster who is a scat back and should only get 5 carries a game. Most teams carry 4 or 5 backs which means we need to add at least two and a great start would be a work horse like Tolbert. Look for us to add one in the draft in rounds 3-5 as well.

not to mention that mcclain is gone to san diego, I think we’d all be crazy not to like a backfield that has the JC, Hillis, AND Tolbert.

Ok chiefs fan adding a RT is much needed And a big back like Hillis to back up charles is good cuz we all know that jones couldnt do it any more. but my main concern is our defenseive front that every chief fan is over looking T.JACKSON is a waste of money cut him and pick up D.WILLIAMS and would make our front more better that it has been in years cuz T.HALI NEEDS HELP
