Chiefs Select WR Devon Wylie in 4th Round

With their 4th round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs selected wide receiver Devon Wylie from Fresno State University.

Wylie (5’9″, 185) was an All-Mountain West special teams performer in 2011 when he averaged 15.4 yards on 29 punt returns including two touchdowns. His receiving totals last year included 56 receptions for 716 yards and one touchdown.

Wylie is an explosive slot receiver who displays terrific overall quickness, is smooth releasing off the line of scrimmage and immediately gets to top speed. He will be a terrific addition to any roster as a slot receiver/return specialist and will produce at the next level if he’s able to stay healthy. He possesses the physical skills and mental makeup to see action as a rookie.

    1. I really like this guy!!! I think Mcclusters days are numbered and this guy is a Dante hall/Welker. We are truly adding depth to this team. This is Matt Cassels last chance to step up cuz hell he has no excuses with all the offense surrounding him. We are deep and loaded with talent. Man i am excited!! Is is September yet???

    2. To Adam, what do you like about this guy. I heard this pick was our 3rd major stretch and he is very injury proned. If you know something that I don’t let us know (I’m not busting your chops just want the 411). Also, stop hating on Dex because he is a little beast!

    3. Adam, I thought you just picked us as 8-8 or 9-7 this year. Has the draft changed your mind so quickly?

    4. Im not hatin on RunDMC!! I just think he is overrated just like I think Carr was garbage and I took a lot of crap for being happy when we got rid of him as well, I just have a feeling about Wylie. He has that feel as an overlooked talent and I really feel this was a steal. Experts are not always right as you well know nobody is!!! But I appreicate the response to my comment and I love u guys cuz we are in the same Chiefs family!! We are the Chiefsnation one love!!!

    6. Adam, you’re certainly right about the “experts”, and I’m one with you in hoping that this coming year brings better things for us. We we’ve been active in the off-season, which means the minds at Arrowhead are active, and, since we haven’t made any bonehead moves, that’s a plus in any event. After all, we won’t get better if we sit on our butts and play most of the same people as last year. At least now we have potential. It will indeed be interesting. Go Chiefs!
