[KC Chiefs.com] The Chiefs announced today that they have signed second-round draft choice Jeff Allen and fifth-round pick DeQuan Menzie to contracts, as well as four free agents, including former Missouri tight end Martin Rucker.
The signings of Allen, a guard/tackle from Illinois, and Menzie, a safety from Alabama, leaves only two draft choices unsigned: first-round pick Dontari Poe, a nose tackle from Memphis; and third-round pick Donald Stephenson, an offensive tackle from Oklahoma.
Rucker, a four-year veteran, was one of 10 players who attended last week’s rookie minicamp on a tryout basis. Two others from that minicamp who signed were veteran linebacker Leon Williams, who like Rucker, spent some time in Cleveland with Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel; and rookie defensive back Dominique Ellis of South Carolina State.
Also signed was offensive lineman Rich Ranglin, who spent three seasons in the Arena Football League.
