[KC Chiefs.com] Jonathan Baldwin established a reputation for making the near-impossible catch last year with an around-the-defender grab of a pass against the Denver Broncos.
He solidified it at the Chiefs’ practice Tuesday, when he made a one-handed diving grab of a Matt Cassel pass for a touchdown over cornerback Stanford Routt. Baldwin’s ability to go up and get a pass has prompted Cassel and other Chiefs quarterbacks to try throws to Baldwin in one-on-one coverage that they might not make to other receivers.
By now, they’re aware the 6-foot-4, 230-pound Baldwin has a distinct size advantage over most cornerbacks and will win most jump-ball opportunities.
The catch came with just seconds remaining in a 2-minute drill near the end of practice and was just the kind of thing the Chiefs envisioned when they made Baldwin their first-round draft pick last year.
“It was a 2-minute situation, and the coach is always talking about making plays,” Baldwin said. “I just had to step up and make a play.
Nice. That is the kind of thing that I expect from him and Bowe. Breaston is not bad either. : )

I have a strong feeling that this kid is slowly grooming into a beast!!! Lets put aside his locker room incident last year that cost him his reputation early as espically as a rookie, but I honestly think he has learned from his early mistakes. When he came on the scene he had an awesome grab against the chargers on Hallowenn night and the catch of the year that unfortunately did not count against Dawkins. he has so much potential to be something special as he matures and I already am starting to think that he is maturing into a level headed person which will translate on and off the field. He will become an all around class act and a BEAST at Wide Receiver!!! Now only if we can Bowe on board this is going to be a very excellent talented Group of WRs Finally in KC!!! Bowe. Baldwin. Breaston. When is the last time we had a 1-2-3 punch as WR and a 2 headed monster at running back!!!!!!!!!! Tomorrow is June 1st Offically 100 Days until Sept 9th Opening day Baby!!!!!!! GO CHIEFS!!!!!!! GO CHIEFSNATION !!!!!!! It is going to be a fun year. Let’s get ready for a rollercoaster ride this year!!!

Matt Cassel had better gun it to his killer “B”s this year or KC will replace him with whoever is next on the qb list. Ricki, rookie, or someone else.

Hell ya Adam! Matt had better get it done with what he has or he does not belong in a chiefs uni…that’s for damn sure. He has a crazy assortment of weapons at his disposal that this is the year or never for Matt. BORAT QUOTE…”KING OF DA CASSEL, KING OF DA CASSEL” lol
