Cassel to Start Against Steelers

[Kansas City.com] Brady Quinn was so desperate to continue a playing career that had been stalled for almost three years that he ignored concussion symptoms for three plays of the Chiefs’ recent loss to Oakland.
That decision may be keeping Quinn out of the Chiefs lineup at quarterback now. Doctors have yet to clear Quinn to play, so he won’t be available in Monday night’s game against the Steelers in Pittsburgh.
Matt Cassel will make his second straight start instead.
Quinn, who went to Pittsburgh this week to be examined by noted concussion specialist Micky Collins, said he was frustrated and disappointed that he is still unavailable to play.
“I feel like I’m the starter until told otherwise,” Cassel said. “Coach Crennel said I’m starting this week and so that’s my job this week. I’ll embrace that. I’m excited about it. I’m excited about playing on ‘Monday Night Football’ and having another opportunity. When Brady comes back and he’s healthy, we’ll see what happens.”
Crennel said he hasn’t considered starting Ricky Stanzi instead of Cassel.
