Chiefs Reduced to Spoiler Role Against Broncos

The Kansas City Chiefs are just 1-9, and they are clearly one of the worst two or three teams in the NFL. The only thing that they have to look forward to for the rest of the season is the fact that they are getting closer and closer to having the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft, one that will finally give the franchise the first consistent starting quarterback that the it has had in quite a long time.

The season isn’t said and done with though, and that Denver Broncos are coming to Arrowhead Stadium. In spite of the fact that this is a home game for the Chiefs, they are still the biggest underdog on the board at +10 ½ on the NFL odds. This also makes Kansas City one of the biggest home underdogs of the entire season.

What’s worse is that, according to SBRForum.com, over 70% of the betting action is laying the points with the Broncos.

The good news for the Chiefs is that they have historically played rather well against Denver. They almost spoiled the Broncos’ season last year with a 7-3 win in Mile High on New Year’s Day, though Denver still backed into the playoffs when the Oakland Raiders were beaten by the San Diego Chargers in a game running simultaneously. KC is a solid 4-4 SU and ATS over the course of the last eight in this series.

Slowing down QB Peyton Manning is going to be tough, knowing that he has led the Broncos to at least 30 points in five straight games. The tougher task though, is going to be getting some points on the board. The Chiefs scored a total of 88 points in their first four games of the season. They’ve scored just 64 points in total in their last six games.
