I haven’t looked at the draft that hard yet, I was basing it off something I heard on TV. Neither one is worthy of a top ten pick. However, now that I think about it, there are more and more teams popping up that will be wanting a QB.

4-4-2-3-2-2-3-3-4-4. Starting from 2012 and going backwards, thats how many QB’s taken in the 1st round. No way will Geno or Matt will drop to the 2nd round. They will be gone by the 10th pick. Also, the kid Glennon from NC State will go in the 1st. Also, I’m talking about taking Klein as our 3rd stringer and developing him. He has a great deal of raw talent and could be great in 2 or 3 years with the correct coaching. If we don’t go QB early in free agency, we have to go QB in the draft. The only other option would be to risk trading down for an extra pick or to getting your QB later in the 1st round.

My dad lives in KC and is a fan of Klien. I haven’t seen much of him. I’m not a KState fan, even though my wife went to school there for a year. Not sure the younger Shanahan is ready for HC. But like I have said on here before, you never know until you give them a shot.

I think Smith and Barker will be available in the second round. If we can take the best player in the draft with the first pick, one of those two might be available with first pick in second round. Alex Smith, Matt Flynn and Cousins will probably all be on the block to pick up. Problem with cousins and Flynn is the one game success issue. I just watched a bunch of highlights on Geno Smith from WVU. He has a strong arm, puts the ball in tights spots because he is very accurate, but I did notice he throws off his back foot a lot. He is fast and can extend the play or take off if needed. He is well spoken in his interviews and appears to have a good head on his shoulder. An english major. While watching his videos, I was also impressed with his WRs. Baily and Austin, both are very good.

Not giving Stanzi a shot strongly suggests that Pioli is gone which gives us hope. If you start Stanzi and they win, Pioli only looks like a bigger jerk. To Jeff, the Stars will probably not align my old friend but that’s be honest. First, we have never picked #1. Second, our only QB 1st rounder was a total bust (Blackledge)!!! Maybe, we are not supposed to ever have a star Q.B.??? However, if we pick Geno or Matt, we need to go Redskins 2012 and nab Colin Klein in the 5th round. He’s a hard worker, a winner and a K St guy. We need competition at the QB posistion and I would be fine if we released all 3 of our current Q.B.’s. Speaking of Washington, the rumor is Kyle Shanahan may get a HC job next year and his Pops is willing to part with Cousins to sweeten the deal since Kyle luv’s Kirk. I would take a new GM, Kyle as HC, and Cousins for our 2nd rounder this year. What you guys think???

Well put, Jeff…the stars are most definitely NOT going to line up for us…draft or free agency, sloppy-seconds and/or has-beens…how many changes do we need…or is it just a tweaking? We all know QB, but, the 49ers were a MESS with Mike Singletary and they’ve been the bomb with Harbaugh…idk, but this has been the WORSE season in my 20 years of devotion…and I’ve been through Bono, Grbac, Gunther as HC…all offense/no defense, all defense/no offense (now)…the worsed…I feel so bad for our stud players…another off-season, ‘hopes’…16 games…it’s gonna be tough tough tough

Hope they hire Polian to replace Pioli and he can bring in Tony Dungee. The stars are not going to line up for us, there are no good QB options in the draft(like last year) or in free agency. We’re a day late and a dollar short!
